Shen Sigu
The five-year-old son of Shen Wufeng and the antagonist in the second part of the novel. He is described as a social butterfly and academic underachiever who thrives on chaos. In the original plot, he was abused by his stepfather Fu Cen and gradually became gloomy and vengeful. After months of daily belittlement and denial from his stepfather, he learned to act submissive and obedient to protect himself. He was punished to stand outside in heavy snow for waking up thirty seconds late. He calls Fu Cen Daddy and pleads to go home. His father expressed disappointment that he could not read financial newspapers at age five.
