He shares the same name as a malicious supporting character in a novel recommended by a nurse. In the novel, he is Shen Wufeng's contractual husband and the wicked stepfather of Shen Sigu. He is described as having a captivating face and an alluring figure, labeled as a thorny wild rose. After transmigrating, he discovers he has social anxiety and must work as an overworked office drone while also serving as a nanny, tutor, and parenting planner for Shen Sigu. His contract with Shen Wufeng requires him to keep Shen Sigu's academic performance in the top three for three years. He faces constant scheming from the CEO's admirers and would eventually suffer brutal retaliation from Shen Sigu in the original plot, ending up dead on the streets.
