He is Zhao Saihua's only brother from the Shangguan family. He is the family's only male heir but has an injured leg which makes it difficult for him to find a wife. The Shangguan family was not wealthy, and no one wanted to marry into a poor family with a husband who had a bad leg and couldn't earn many work points. Zhao Saihua's refusal to be exchanged in marriage for him led to her family cutting ties with her after her parents died.
