Also known as Zheng Hao, placed first in the imperial examinations as Zhuangyuan. Originally betrothed to Minister Liu's daughter Li Shu, but the Emperor issued an imperial decree for a royal marriage instead, severing contact between the Zheng and Liu families. He harbored deep hatred for Chancellor Bai Xingzhong and had an unharmonious relationship with his princess wife. He never forgot Li Shu over the years.
