There are still missing chapters from when the Great Reset happened
I dropped this some time ago, I think because the beginning made me sceptical. Grammar is bearable, but nothing to be too proud of. Does that get better? Some of the mistakes in the first few chapters are pretty basic. Apart from that, the mc is kinda underwhelming after that intro into the new world. When does that change?
Don't hesitate like I did and just read it. Even i was shocked when i realized that i enjoyed reading the "content"
Who up zerkin they peanitz
It's time to continue cultivating my Dao of all daos
Is it funny ?
"Don't dwell on negative feedback; for me, this is an entertaining read. It offers all the elements one desires - romance, a cunning and intelligent protagonist, witty retorts, dramatic confrontations, thrilling action scenes, and while some aspects may be predictable, they still manage to feel engaging. The translations might not be perfect due to being machine-learned, but they improve as the story progresses."
Let me tell you, this story is a real winner! If you're a fan of Guns vs. Swords, I highly recommend giving this novel a read. The concept is fascinating - imagine all of Japan (mainland and islands alike) transported to a world of magic and swords. So far, the plot has been engaging and the interactions between nations feel authentic.
I came across a comment here that explained why the Japanese people aren't completely chaotic upon arrival in this new world. It pointed out that people would eventually adapt, get tired of panic, and seek stability. Governments like the Qua-Toyne diplomats mentioned would naturally step in to manage the situation and reassure the population. Given that they've been there for a while, it makes sense that they would work on calming the public before conducting any patrols.
Now, let's talk about the storytelling aspect. The world-building is done beautifully through character reports and conversations, which adds depth to the narrative. The characters' reactions are hilarious and crucial, as they are what many readers enjoy in this genre. The battle descriptions are well-written, and the translation is top-notch – a shout-out to Yukkuri for their excellent work!
Though it's only three chapters in, based on what I've read so far, it's been fantastic. Give it a chance; you might be pleasantly surprised.
The conclusion was hasty and frustrating. Initially, some storylines and misunderstandings provided entertainment, but the narrative took a disappointing turn when the characters arrived in America (the final 100 chapters). The author seemed to abandon previous hints and堕入了懒散的低潮, resorting to using real movies as a cheap plot device. Considering most readers have likely experienced these films, it felt unnecessary to analyze a inferior light novel adaptation.
The author lacked both talent and confidence to create a compelling film concept that could captivate Hollywood. They hurried through crucial moments, introduced characters only to discard them, and neglected well-planned setups due to laziness. Repeating mediocre elements didn't help either. Spoiler alert: the chances of a character saving two people under life-threatening circumstances, sparking a love connection, and gaining massive publicity were highly unrealistic.
The ending was a letdown, bordering on a fantasy that replaced movie stars with the protagonist, transforming him into an entirely different person. It was unsatisfying, and I would've avoided the sour taste if I had stopped reading after the Cannes part. Moreover, there was no significant character development throughout the story; the main character merely observed life changing around him, which made him seem weak.
Wow, I've never encountered such a spineless, emotionally-unstable character who constantly cries in response to any situation. No matter how harshly the self-centered, abusive main lead (ML) treats him, he blindly obeys, which is utterly ridiculous. The plot is so absurd that it's nauseating. At least the author could have made the misunderstandings somewhat bearable, instead of resorting to全员醉酒 scenarios. Frankly, I'm hoping for a change in the ML; a despicable one might be acceptable, but this one is just too愚蠢 to bear.
