But here's what gets me—the visual contrast. You've got this bright red wedding chamber, all the symbols of celebration and union, and Murong Xuan is literally burning it down to save her. The red silk drapes catching fire, the candles as fuel, the whole room transforming from a place of joyous celebration into an emergency escape route in seconds. It's such a vivid, cinematic sequence. I could see every frame. And then there's the Crown Prince's residence where Shen Xiyue ends up. The author deliberately makes it feel different—"Nothing was extravagant; each piece was dignified, simple, yet exquisitely elegant and refined." After the chaos and violence of the wedding manor, this quiet, peaceful space feels like a breath of fresh air. The warm bathwater, the soft candlelight, the maid Shuangye being naturally chatty and helpful. It's a stark contrast that makes the world feel lived-in and real. The wedding banquet outside is another great touch—guests toasting, making jokes about the bride and groom, completely unaware that inside that room, a woman is reliving her worst nightmare while a drugged Crown Prince fights for control. The juxtaposition of the lively celebration outside with the tension inside creates this unbearable dramatic irony. Every clink of a wine cup outside makes your heart race for Shen Xiyue.

Interesting characters and storyline. Overall, this seems like it will be a very good story. I can't wait to read through all of the upcoming chapters.
After reading 26 chapters, I can say that the creation of the system has improved. The mysteries part in the beginning are gradually becoming clearer. As time goes by, the story becomes more engaging, especially the world-building.

So far, I love this book. I love the build-up. I am hoping the author gives the FMC (Myra) a back story. I love to read and have a vast library of books. A friend of mine told me about this site over a year ago, but I just started reading from here several months ago. I like how this author gives you details but doesn't drag it out. They tell the story and gives you images without over doing it. Looking forward to more of this story!
