Any romance in the story?
Is this Plastic Memories?
yup another plot hole.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Although I generally tend to be cautious around yanderes, the positive reviews convinced me to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. I read it from beginning to end without any discomfort; what stood out was how well-developed her antagonists were, rather than being one-dimensional stereotypes.
I appreciate the feisty and determined nature of the female protagonist, who doesn't have an unfair advantage, unlike many revenge story tropes. Despite her past challenges, her character remains relatable due to her vulnerabilities and imperfections. The sibling dynamics with her brother are amusingly chaotic, creating a mix of spiciness and sweetness.
The male protagonist also holds his own, and I find the portrayal of a doting older brother endearing. While I'm not bothered by the occasional torture scenes, they evoke a certain emotional response, perhaps because I believe the circumstances warrant it. The adoption storyline doesn't bother me, as it's a common theme in Asian media.
The original female protagonist serves as a fitting contrast to the female lead, exposing the hypocrisy of those around her. Her sharp tongue and ability to call out others make for satisfying reading. The scenes of confrontation are quite gratifying, especially when it comes to the physical confrontations.
In summary, I plan to revisit this book for a re-read, thoroughly enjoying its characters, dynamics, and overall storytelling.
The tale revolves around a man who wakes up as an extra in a video game he was once a skilled player of. Unbeknownst to him, he inadvertently gets entangled with the final boss and the game's leading lady, both part of a harem, and starts altering the narrative by taking center stage in the main quest. Leveraging his gaming prowess, he overcomes his in-game weaknesses, completes challenges, and forms relationships along the way.
After reading the first 33 chapters, there are two key issues that detract from the reading experience. Firstly, the protagonist's motivations seem inconsistent. Despite claiming to只想求生存,避免引人注意, he frequently puts himself in danger and thrusts himself into the limelight, often relying on plot armor to save him. Additionally, although he is aware that the girls adore him, he primarily uses them for his schemes without showing genuine affection or concern, treating them more as plot devices than partners.
A minor spoiler follows:
He even invites a girl he knows has feelings for him to a fancy hotel dinner, solely to exploit her help in defeating enemies, exposing them both to significant risks.
While this manipulation might be seen as endearing by some, it's the excessive focus on random world-building,详细介绍主角在游戏中发现的技能和策略(因为他本来就是老玩家) that really bothers me. The narrative becomes repetitive, with the protagonist combining various skills with rare items under specific circumstances to boost his power despite his weak stats. It feels like a tedious read-through of a game that fails to engage me.
Perhaps the story improves later on, catering to those who enjoy such a style, but for me, it feels unnecessarily drawn-out and doesn't justify the high ratings it receives.
uh... yeah if i wanted that i would read it on a specified novel not on a fanfic
Based on the synopsis I'm guessing its inspired by Dark Souls
Is it good? I plan to read a few chapters
Hahaha! Remind me sometime after I finish the novel to come back here to drop the stuff I have in my library. I'm just too hooked in this book rn to care about anything else ?
It's not bad, for a first novel. You can take this story as a side read. If the author starts pumping in more chapters, it might make the novel more better. So far, not a bad read.
it's a good story to read and I promise you that you won't regret it
Amazing work, keep going , i want more chapters
