Okay I need to just sit with this for a second. Han Xiaorui did NOT come to play. Zhang Xiufang shows up screaming, kicking the door, threatening extortion — and Han Xiaorui just... smiles? Like she's been waiting for this moment? The tape recorder detail gave me actual chills. She recorded the whole thing. The whole thing. And then when the police arrive she's like 'Officers, my former mother-in-law has been insulting me, threatening me, and attempting to extort me.' I literally gasped out loud. The stakes here are SO much higher than a typical family drama. This isn't just about who gets the last word — Han Xiaorui is a divorced woman with two kids in a fishing village, completely on her own after Yang Jianguo abandoned her. If she doesn't establish herself as untouchable now, Zhang Xiufang will never stop. And the villagers are watching. Every single one of them. The crowd outside her door represents the entire community's judgment. But what really got me was the scene where Yang Zhigang swears on his life: 'If I ever did anything so wicked, may I be struck by lightning, sink to the bottom of the sea, and be fed to the fish!' That's not just defense — that's a man willing to stake his entire reputation and spiritual fate on Han Xiaorui's innocence. The contrast between Zhang Xiufang's petty greed and Yang Zhigang's genuine honor is devastating. And then Han Xiaorui's real masterstroke — she doesn't actually want to send Zhang Xiufang to jail. She wants to USE the threat of jail as leverage. That's not revenge, that's strategy. 'Sending her to prison isn't my end goal, but making her behave, ensuring she doesn't dare provoke me again, and letting the villagers see that I am not to be trifled with — that is my goal.' I was literally clapping at my screen.
I have to talk about how these characters communicate, because it's basically a masterclass in saying absolutely nothing while communicating everything. Take this exchange: "Scraped by accident..." His voice trailed off slightly. "Or were you pushed?" He doesn't even let her answer. He just... asks. And she just... doesn't. "Wen Mingyao stiffened, lowering her gaze and sitting silently for a long while before slowly spreading her palm open... After a long pause, she answered evasively, 'It's fine. It should heal soon.'" Fine. It should heal soon. That's it. That's the whole conversation about her being physically manhandled by a child. And Zhou Zhuo's response? He just... looks at her. "Zhou Zhuo looked at her expressionless face and felt nothing but irony." Then he goes to the kitchen to eat alone. The dialogue in this book is incredible because it's not about what people say—it's about the gaps. The silences. The things they physically do instead of speaking. Like when Mother Zhou calls and immediately asks: "Wen Mingyao, have you and Zhou Zhuo shared a room these past few days?" And Wen Mingyao's entire internal reaction: "As soon as she arrived, Zhou Zhuo had taken his bedding and pillow and moved to the study. How could she possibly say that to her mother-in-law?" She could just... say it? But she can't. Because the next line from Mother Zhou is basically: "You're just not capable enough to keep your man." The author's voice is so restrained. No dramatic declarations, no emotional outbursts. Just people orbiting each other, constantly misreading, constantly wanting to reach out and pulling back. And somehow that makes every tiny gesture—a lunchbox with meat buns, canned peaches left on the table, a book left behind—feel enormous. I love this writing style but god help me it hurts.

Story is well written, and has quite a bit of future potential. Just remember this though, if you yourself, enjoy writing your stories, then that is the one thing that should matter the most more then anything else. Sometimes, it is not about any sort of money or payment, but should in fact, always be about enjoying sharing your work with your viewers and fans. And that, should always take priority, because if your fans and viewers enjoy reading your work, as well as potential future generations, then that is the one thing, that should matter more to you then anything else. For you see, people are more concerned in living in the here and now. While people me, we like to have a more, long game in mind. Now, don't take this as some sort of negative by any means, I am just saying, that if we want future generations to enjoy this world, then we have to be willing to protect what we love, in an effort to do our best to better our future.
Your way of explaining all the caliber and scenarios are amazing. The character seems to be overpowered, if you could fix that then it's great

I initially planned to read this as a fellow author, but I got hooked from the first chapter and quickly turned into a reader instead?Only three chapters in, and I'm enjoying the development so far.
The first two chapters set up cool worldbuilding, and by chapter three I was along for the ride! If you're looking for a new Sci-Fi read, check it out. Jack is cool and believable as an MC. Early on, stakes are high and the types of threats being built up to are enormous in scale. This will be a good one, glad I found it early!
