I need a minute. The scene where Qin Xiao catches his mother about to kick Qinghe and then tells her to fight back? I literally gasped out loud. Let me break down why this wrecked me. First, the slap. Madam Qin just—smack—Qinghe on the ground. And Qinghe, who survived the Prince's Manor where servants were beaten and told to thank their masters for the privilege, who never cried, never complained... she breaks. She tells Qin Xiao everything, and she's sobbing, and he's holding her and saying "You've suffered." That line. Just two words and I was done. But then he turns to his own mother and says "my wife hasn't bewitched me. I'm good to her because she's good to me." He's not defending her based on pity or obligation. He's saying: she treats me well, so I treat her well. That's it. That's the entire philosophy. And then he lists the things she does—washes his clothes, cooks, mends, gathers herbs. These are the quiet, daily acts of care that build a real partnership. And the most powerful moment? When he tells Qinghe to hit back. "When someone hits you, hit them back. If you can't beat them, there's a stick... and if all else fails, fight them to the bitter end. If anything happens, I've got you." He's not just protecting her physically—he's giving her permission to stop being submissive, to stop accepting abuse, to know she has someone in her corner. After everything Qinghe endured, this is the first time someone is handing her that power.
'Honey, look! A beauty!' 'Hmm! Nice figure! Face, I'd give 85 points. If she wore makeup, she could be even prettier.' *ear pinch* 'Honey, be gentle! We're in public, keep up appearances!' 'Well, then it's my fault!' 'No, honey, you misunderstood me—it's my fault!' I am NOT okay with how good this dialogue is. The back-and-forth between Qin Yi and Su Xiaowan in the park is so natural, so perfectly calibrated, that I could literally hear their voices. Su Xiaowan pointing out another woman and then immediately punishing him for looking — it's playful, it's possessive, it's deeply affectionate disguised as mischief. And Qin Yi's immediate surrender? 'Well, then it's my fault!' followed by 'No, honey, you misunderstood me—it's my fault!' — he's not actually apologizing, he's just trying to survive, and the repetition is hilarious. The business dialogue is equally sharp. Yi Bohao's line 'Qin Yi, I can't bring you into this project. It requires too much capital, and you…' — that trailing off is masterful. Everyone at the table understands what he's NOT saying, and the reader understands it too. It's dialogue that communicates through omission. But the most devastating dialogue comes when Qin Yi confronts Wu Meier: 'If you were in trouble, you could have called me! You know my number—I haven't changed it!' This isn't angry dialogue — it's hurt dialogue, and that's so much more powerful. The fact that he kept his number all these years speaks louder than any speech could. And Wu Meier's response, breaking down into tears, shows that she understands exactly what she's lost by not reaching out. The author's voice throughout is consistently witty without being pretentious, emotional without being melodramatic. Every character has a distinct way of speaking — Yi Bohao's calculated pauses, Su Xiaowan's playful sharpness, Qin Yi's mix of humor and genuine warmth.
Okay, so let me just say this first: Duan Zhuo is absolutely unhinged and I am HERE for it. The way he walks into a room and immediately makes An Li's life complicated is honestly impressive. Like, most guys would be like 'hey, nice to meet you' and Duan Zhuo is over there saying 'be my girlfriend, love me, sleep with me' at breakfast. Bold strategy. But what's really interesting is the contrast between the two brothers. Duan Xingning is this gentle, refined guy who cuts his steak and asks about her knee injury with actual concern. Meanwhile Duan Zhuo is lounging with champagne, watching the drama unfold like it's his favorite entertainment. They're literally described as looking somewhat alike but having temperaments 'worlds apart' — one like jade, the other wild and devilishly charming. It's such a classic setup but the author makes it work because each brother represents something different to An Li. The most telling moment for me was when Duan Zhuo told the doctor 'Her husband.' That wasn't just a joke — it was a power move. He's claiming her in front of a medical professional while she's sitting there in complete panic. And the doctor's reaction? Just accepting it because apparently in this world being handsome and confident is all the ID you need. What I find fascinating is that Duan Zhuo seems to genuinely want something real despite his playboy reputation. When he shows his phone to An Li and says 'let my girlfriend delete them,' that's actually vulnerable. He's offering her access to his entire world. And when he says 'my mouth is on me' — that's not just flirtation, that's him asserting that he gets to decide his own narrative, even if it's a fabricated one. The sibling dynamic is also quietly fascinating. Duan Xingning warns his brother not to tease An Li, calling her 'our sister,' which shows he cares about family harmony. Duan Zhuo's response — 'I won't tease her. I'll just sleep with her' — is both hilarious and deeply telling about where his priorities lie. This brother rivalry is going to be so much fun to watch unfold.
Amazing and interesting highly recommend
Just almost perfect. But well, i guess a story can't be perfect to everyone as we all hava different taste, but still, it's well and funnily written. I can't stand waiting for the next chapters x). Only shortcoming i can think of, maybe describe magic effects with more details (please ? x) ).

You strengthen and weaken the characters in a moment and choose their thinking and I think the work is very good with the note that Yun Che forgot to bring Chen Shen
