'Did you slip breeding medicine to Shixuan?!' — Luo Erfen, absolutely losing her mind. This line alone tells you everything you need to know about this woman: she's aggressive, she's suspicious, she has zero filter, and she's willing to accuse people of attempted poisoning in front of a crowd of neighbors. The dialogue here is SO distinctive for each character it's almost uncanny. Wang Yurou's performance is a masterclass in fake vulnerability: 'Aunt Luo, you know me—I've always been proper, never daring to covet anything that isn't mine.' She's putting on such a convincing show of a shy, wronged girl that even I almost felt bad for her. Almost. The way she pivots from tears to pointing at Shen Zhaozhao is smooth—like, 'It was Shen Zhaozhao! She's the one who did it!' One second she's sobbing, the next she's throwing someone under the bus. The dialogue shift is so sharp you can practically hear the record scratch. And Fu Shixuan's 'I must take responsibility' speech—delivered with such gravitas, like he's in a Shakespeare tragedy, when in reality he's been completely played. The author's narrative voice has this wonderful dry wit too. Right after Fu Shixuan's noble declaration, we get: 'In truth, her heart was pounding so hard it felt ready to leap out of her chest. Beneath her excitement, however, lay a flicker of unease.' The narrator is basically winking at us while Wang Yurou is out here living her biggest lie. Shen Zhaozhao's voice is my favorite though. That moment when she says 'cough, cough... what do I need to do today? I... cough, cough... didn't hear you clearly—could you say it again?' while deliberately spraying people with spit? The voice is perfect—frail on the surface, absolutely vicious underneath.
Let's talk stakes because this author knows how to make you care. On the personal level, the conflict is devastating: two people who love each other but are torn apart by circumstances neither could control. Cheng Lin carries the guilt of having ended things prematurely. Jiang Yi dies thinking she rejected him. That's internal conflict at its most painful. But then the external stakes hit—thirty days until the apocalypse. The author makes the countdown feel real by showing us Cheng Lin's methodical preparation. Five million yuan. Compressed biscuits. Solar generators. Water purification tablets. Every item on that list represents a life-or-death decision. The tension comes from the race against time. She's not just surviving for herself—she's trying to survive for both her and Jiang Yi. The line "You must stay alive" isn't dramatic flair, it's a genuine plea that raises the stakes exponentially. What happens if she fails? What happens if the apocalypse comes and Jiang Yi is already dead? The author never lets us forget that the clock is ticking on every level—thirty days to the end of the world, and already Jiang Yi is gone from her life. The car accident, the coma, the missing person status—it all compounds the urgency. Every chapter feels like a step closer to either salvation or total devastation, and I cannot stop reading.

Author doesn’t disappoint for sure, this book seems to be on the road to being as good as his last book. I don’t got much to say other than I hate Vanessa
