Okay, I need to talk about the Zhao Xiaoyu extra story because honestly? It was the most satisfying plot twist in this whole batch. You spend all these chapters watching Sheng Qianyu navigate family drama, and then BAM — we get a full rebirth arc from the villain's perspective, and it completely recontextualizes everything. The structure here is actually really clever. The author gives us Zhao Xiaoyu's original timeline first, then her rebirth, then watches her try to game the system and fail even harder. It's like watching someone read the answer key but still get every question wrong because they're fundamentally flawed as a person. What really sold me was the reveal that Zhao Daxiong knew about her rebirth all along. That line — "Zhao Daxiong had seen through her rebirth early on" — hit me like a truck. It means the entire Zhao family was protecting her the whole time, treating her with kid gloves, and she wasted it all on spite and greed. The plot symmetry is insane. And then the chapter just pivots to Chapter 20 with Sheng Qianyu reincarnating AGAIN as a wealthy heiress? The author is playing 4D chess with narrative structure here. Two separate rebirth stories in one batch, bookending each other. One about a villain who couldn't win even with foreknowledge, one about the hero getting a fresh start. That's not accidental writing — that's deliberate thematic architecture. My only question is whether the Duan Ziheng storyline in Chapter 20 will mirror or contrast with the Chen Zhou romance. The setup feels different — child star, family bankruptcy, engagement — but I have a feeling the emotional beats might echo the main story in interesting ways. What do you think?
The worldbuilding in these chapters is absolutely stunning, and I want to talk about how the author does it—not through exposition dumps, but through Qin Ziheng's eyes as he pieces together this impossible world. Let me just... the cave itself. It's small, half the size of his guest room back in the capital, with a stone bed and a giant scallop shell being used as a pot. The detail about the scallop shell is genius—primitive but resourceful. And then there's the firewood stove scene, where Mao Xiaoshu keeps failing to stack the stones properly because he doesn't understand which side should face down. Qin Ziheng, who grew up in a village and learned to cook over open fires with his grandpa, steps in to help. This tiny moment does SO much worldbuilding—it tells us about Qin Ziheng's rural roots, about Mao Xiaoshu's tribal upbringing, and about the practical knowledge that bridges their two worlds. Then the view from the cave mouth: the big tree, the bamboo grove, the wide river, the plain, the unbroken mountain ranges. And the other tribe members—wearing full hide garments, one with a leopard's tail, another with rabbit-like ears drooping to their shoulders. The author doesn't explain any of this. We discover it alongside Qin Ziheng, and that makes it feel infinitely more real. The birdsong that confused him at first, the primitive stone houses with no windows (because drafts let in Woo-Woo Beasts—what even is that??), the smoke from cooking fires in the early morning. Every sensory detail grounds us in this world. I could practically feel the damp cave air and hear the stones clattering.
this is actually solid like honestly with a banger of a first chapter and I'd like to see more world built background but ovrall the story is cooking
