The book is good. However, it's way too long. this could have been broken up into three or more books. I stopped reading after the Sydney and Mark story. The mix-up of names throughout the story got confusing, and then it went right into Aiden and his girlfriends story.
so love this book! try it, its worth it!
Okay so let me just say this: Xie Chengze is a menace. A complete menace. And I love it. The entire scene where he stages this whole violent confrontation with Zhu Xiaobiao only to reveal moments later that it was all an act? Chef's kiss. But here's what actually blew my mind - the layering. He wasn't just putting on a show for Zhu Xiaobiao. He was putting on a show for SHEN YUAN. Think about it. Shen Yuan was watching from the shadows, trying to figure out what was going on, and Xie Chengze knew he was being watched the whole time. That's next-level paranoia and manipulation. The plot mechanism here is brilliant too. Xie Chengze needed to identify which of the concubines were willing to risk their lives for Zhu Xiaobiao - the ones who had survived the previous assassination attempt. By creating a fake life-or-death situation, he forced them to reveal their loyalty publicly. Jing Ze and the others stepped up, and now they're his personal guards. In the original timeline, Xie Chengze just executed them all out of rage and fear. Now he's repurposed them. The plot twist isn't just that it was fake - it's that Shen Yuan is watching this unfold and realizing Xie Chengze is still fundamentally the same vicious person from his past life. Except now he's smarter about it. More calculated. That's the real horror. And then there's the subplot of the embezzled silver. Zhu Xiaobiao had been hoarding his father's stolen money, and Xie Chengze just... took it all. Clean. While Zhu Xiaobiao was busy pretending to be terrified. The father and son betrayal moment where they'd both sacrifice each other for survival? That's the kind of detail that makes this world feel real. Every character is playing multiple games at once.
Certainly! Here's the rewritten content:
"Easy to MTL. My first sports-themed novel, and I absolutely loved it. Even with some repetitive sections, I found myself completely hooked. I’m not sure why, but I kept reading. It would have been even better if the author had added more romance. There are also some plot holes, especially in the later parts of the story (the extras). However, it’s still very enjoyable.
Definitely worth re-reading."
This is an incredibly engaging novel! ? We finally have a fantastic and well-balanced couple, where the male lead (ML) and female lead (MC) display intelligence and maintain their wit throughout. They exhibit mutual respect and support, with neither character relying solely on the other – their equality is truly refreshing. The plot is intricately woven, free from loose ends, and each decision or action feels logically justified. The storytelling captivates without resorting to annoying misunderstandings or excessive conflict resolution. Kudos to the translator for doing an outstanding job! ??
"Clarification on Misinformation from @AmuSusher:
The previous commentator provided incorrect details. In the story, ML contrasts his ex-wife with the MC based on who treated him better, not simply who was more submissive. Here's a summary of their behaviors:
- ML's ex-wife is portrayed as weak and dependent, not strong and independent.
- She allows her family to manipulate her and even physically abuses her children.
- She neglects the family, distributes ML's hard-earned money to others, and lets her cousin harass him and the kids, causing ML to avoid going home.
- Despite ML's attempts to discuss these issues, she dismisses him and brings trouble into their lives.
Now, regarding your recent post with more misinformation, I advise you to read the entire book first, as it's crucial to understand the context. Spoiler alert: The story reveals ML's efforts to mend his relationship with his ex-wife, but she remains oblivious to her cousin's malicious intentions. We're correcting your inaccuracies not to argue, but to prevent readers from avoiding the novel due to misinformation. Please refrain from basing opinions on your interpretations, as it may lead to negative reactions from those who enjoy the story. So, stop playing the victim card!"

It ends around chapter 180. Sucks tbh, wanted to see how his harem would develop lol. (Even though the feelings would be fabricated cause of the binding effecfs)
