I am at chapter 12 and I decided to give an initial review. I am a new reader at web novel and this is the first book I read, recommended by a friend. I like how the story is developing. The FL is strong and I hate weak FLs, so I like this. The visual imagery ... it is just a WOW!

She doesn't even raise her voice. Just drops that threat about reporting her to the Hall Master and walks away like she just ordered lunch. And then immediately turns around and helps Jiang Yunong up like nothing happened. The switch is insane. But what really got me is how she treats Jiang Yunong. She doesn't just save her and disappear into the night like a typical xianxia hero. No, she asks if she's eaten and invites her to dinner. Like, bro, you just got rescued from a brutal beating in an alley and your first instinct is hospitality? And when Jiang Yunong is all suspicious and defensive, Lin Luming doesn't push, doesn't get offended, just... stays. "So, what is your name after all?" That persistence without pressure is chef's kiss. And Hua Tian! Oh my god, Hua Tian is my favorite side character now. The way she's constantly panicking while Lin Luming is this calm storm. "What if she orders people to secretly kill us in the middle of the night?!" and Lin Luming just flicks her forehead. That's not a reaction, that's a relationship.
