Okay so let me just say this—this world feels INCREDIBLY alive. Like, I can actually SEE the court hall. The ministers filing in, the emperor on his dragon throne, the whole bureaucratic machinery grinding along. And it's not just set dressing; the setting itself drives everything. The flood crisis in Yi Province isn't some abstract political talking point—it's the reason farmers have abandoned their land, the reason the treasury is bleeding silver, the reason corrupt officials are scrambling. The author doesn't just tell us "there's a flood problem." We get the Min River, the Jiangdu Plain, the snowmelt, the three-year cycle of dam destruction. It's specific enough that I can picture it, and it makes the political drama feel grounded in real stakes. But the scene that really sold me was the Ministry of Revenue donation ledger moment. The way the author describes the officials hovering, the ledger being announced, the tension as each name is called—that's cinematic. You can feel the room. The Minister of Revenue announcing "Supervising Censor Chen, donation silver: forty taels" and the collective reaction of the other ministers? I was there. I could feel their judgment, their relief, their sneering. And then Xie Chengze stepping up and writing down his own name—thirty-nine taels, nine mace, and ninety-nine copper coins. The precision of that detail, the exactness of being one copper coin BELOW the lowest official, it's such a vivid image. The author doesn't need to describe the room anymore; the ledger entry does the work. The world also has this beautiful layer of political texture—the Spring Examination, the Ministry of Rites, the Directorate of Celestial Observation warning of disasters. Every institution mentioned feels like it has history and weight. This isn't a generic ancient China backdrop; it's a functioning, breathing bureaucracy where every position matters and every decision ripples outward.
I need to talk about the money scene because WOW. Yan Xiao pulls out this metal box and it's literally a thick stack of cash — twelve thousand yuan — and he says "it's not much." Not much. NOT MUCH. In this era, people with ten thousand yuan savings were rare. Rare. And he's handing it over like he's buying groceries. But what got me wasn't the money. It was the vulnerability underneath it. He's worried she'll think it came from shady sources. He's worried her city family will look down on him. He's worried he's not enough. All this while pretending to be this tough, capable hunter guy. The man is a walking contradiction and I love him for it. And then the kiss scene — oh my god. He asks "want a kiss" like he's giving her an option, but the way he describes her lips as "sweet as nectar" and wanting to "swallow her whole"? That's not a question, that's a declaration. And she wraps her legs around his waist. She initiates. And then the knock on the door at the worst possible moment. I was SCREAMING internally. The fact that he waits outside until midnight to protect her after all that passion? That's the kind of devotion that makes you want to ship it so hard.

Enjoying the book so far and there's a lot of potential in it. Though a bit slow at the beginning the progression of the story feels nice. Can't wait to read more.

Hello great author, I'm a huge fan of your work! Your book left a lasting impression on me, and I believe it has the potential to reach even more readers. I'd be honored to share some thoughts on how to enhance its impact and visibility. Would you be open to hearing my thoughts?
I like the story but for new readers, i suggest let this one marinate. its really too early and the chapters are pretty short. It has unique power systems and abilities which aren't all that common in stories. The story uses a bit of religious thematics for explain a perticular character very early on which was kinda unique for a story i thought was just a generic harem Pokémon collector. i do hope author can stay true to the original premise rather do some powerfantasy galaxy busting planet destroying stuff. I dont mind if its done sparringly ig and not for the sake of creating higher realms after higher relams for the sake of the 'powerscaling' and trying to make the op'est mc of all time.Almost all story just create mindnumbing garbage story where neither readers or author himself has a clue to how to make fights that high level . and as to why this character is truly stronger then that character other then just an arbitrary name tag of this level beats that level.i was kinda all over the place with that but the gist is, story starts with the premise of mc wanting to become the greatest harem protag of all time, so the focus should be on that. power levels and fight is second.
Haven’t made it super far, but it already seems like it’s licking up in pace. The setting is different from most fantasy web-novels, but not so much that it feels jarring to read. Interested to see where this goes!
The beginning is very intriguing and captivating. I like that the logic of reality is present, even though the genre is fantasy. Thank you to the author.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused. I’ve created a beautiful story, but I didn’t fully understand how to share it with you all. I thought it might be helpful to update the current chapters from another POV. If you think differently, please let me know, as I’m starting to rewrite them again. Thank you for your understanding!"
