"Some people just can't beat me in exams, and they can't beat me in fights either. They can only use their mouths to find some sense of existence." I AM DEAD. Lin Lumi does not miss. She does not even try to be polite. This girl looked at He Changhua's entire existence and delivered a diagnosis so accurate it should come with a warning label. And her dialogue with the Elder? "I am not as thick-skinned as him." Just drops that and moves on. The woman has no filter and I respect it enormously. But Mu Heng's dialogue is where it gets interesting. His voice is so distinct — short, cold, layered with irony. "I have said that I do not like others touching my bamboo chair." That's not just dialogue; that's character. We learn everything about him in one sentence. He's territorial, he's precise, he's not going to explain himself to anyone. The exchange with Fan Li is comedy gold: "Master already has wrinkles at the corners of your eyes. If you go, you will probably scare her away. It's better if I go." Fan Li: "You are the one with wrinkles! I am very young, alright!" These two have such a specific rhythm. Fan Li is all energy and schemes; Mu Heng is all deadpan and daggers. Their banter feels like it's been going on for years (which, canonically, it has). Hua Tian's dialogue is also well-drawn. When she snaps at He Changhua: "If you're jealous, swallow it! Who told you to be unable to take first place yourself!" That's not polished rhetoric — that's a hot-headed friend defending her buddy. It's messy and immediate and real. The narrative voice itself is worth mentioning too. It's restrained in the best way. The author doesn't over-narrate or tell us how to feel. They let the dialogue and actions carry the weight. When Lin Lumi says "You don't know you were wrong; you just know you are finished," the narration doesn't add any commentary. It just sits there and lets the line land. That's confidence.
There are so many layers of meaning packed into these chapters and I need to unpack them. Let's start with the room. The text explicitly tells us: 'Just from the room's decor, one could tell how eagerly Jiang's parents had awaited her birth.' The starry sky mural, the fluorescent glow, the pink princess bed—all of this is visual proof of being DESIRED. And Guan Xuxu's immediate internal response is devastating: 'That was a familial affection Guan Xuxu had never experienced. Because in Guan's family, no one had ever anticipated her arrival. If anything, perhaps they only awaited her death.' The room itself is a symbol of everything she was denied, and the fact that she sleeps in it night after night without fully claiming it speaks volumes about her internalized sense of not belonging. Then there's the fox. Hu Piaoliang isn't just a pet—he's a mirror. Two abandoned creatures. One was unwanted by her blood family, the other was apparently separated from its original owner and followed Guan Xuxu through the night. The fox carrying her supplies in a tiny backpack? That's not just cute, that's symbolic of mutual care between outcasts. They chose each other. And Chu Beihe's golden light—what does that represent? It's literally described as 'dazzling,' almost blinding. The fox is drawn to it instinctively. In the context of this novel's mystical elements, golden light seems to represent power, protection, perhaps destiny. Guan Xuxu is standing in it, holding her fox, and for the first time she's not running away. She's embarrassed but present. 'Holding the little fox, she stepped forward, feeling somewhat embarrassed.' She's learning to stand in the light instead of fleeing from it. The fox is also a symbol of wildness and untamed loyalty—things the Jiang family can't control or legislate away. Jiang Huai building it a proper home in the eastern garden? That's the family literally making space for the wild thing, for the unexpected, for Guan Xuxu's world to exist within theirs.
Okay so I need to talk about Gu Shilan coming down the stairs in that white shirt, collar slightly open, hair all messy from a shower, and Jiang Wan basically short-circuiting. The author wrote: "The intense desires that surged in the early morning always needed an outlet." AND THEN he immediately buttons his shirt up when he notices she's uncomfortable. Like. BRO. He didn't even do it on purpose but the SECOND he saw her flustered, he covered up. That is the most considerate man I have EVER read about. And then the breakfast scene! Aunt Zhang telling Jiang Wan about the crab roe soup dumplings that took an hour to prepare, and Gu Shilan specifically worrying she wouldn't eat well because of morning sickness. He's already thinking about her comfort before she even opens her eyes. Meanwhile Jiang Wan is just sitting there eating porridge like a little scared rabbit, and she says "I'll wait for you to come home from work" completely offhandedly and Gu Shilan is internally losing his mind. But the thing that really got me was Old Mrs. Gu. This woman shows up out of nowhere, hears about the pregnancy, rushes over, and instead of being some scary matriarch who disapproves, she's just... sweet? She gives Jiang Wan a jade bracelet and says it has Buddhist aura to protect her and the child. Jiang Wan, who grew up completely unloved by her own family, is literally trembling because someone is being KIND to her. She's never had an elder speak to her in such a considerate tone. That bittersweet moment where she suppresses her emotions and just says thank you? I was NOT okay. The contrast between how the Gu family treats her versus the Jiang family is just... I can't. Jiang Ting and Meng Fenyu are plotting to marry her off to some grocery delivery guy's widower while the Gu grandmother is putting a precious jade bracelet on her wrist like she's family. Family. That's the whole emotional core of this thing.
Hi, another mandatory shameless self-review.I hope you enjoy this story; I went out of my comfort zone and wrote a story that focuses at least 60% romance and the last few (30%) is mostly the lore of the story.Hopefully you all enjoy this, sorry if there would be grammatical errors. English is really not my first language
Wow. This is a new tale to be familiar with. What myth did this come from?Writing Quality. Great writing style. Updating Stability. Consistently updated. Story Development. The pace wasn't so fast but it's a bit slow. Character Design. Described along way. The hero is a teenage boy with a big dream but is more pulled by responsibility because of his father's death at an early age. He sounds more mature than his actual age, doesn't he? World Background. Interesting village from old times with men wearing loincloth.I look forward to Mmwana's journey to be the best warrior that he will become. Keep going, author!
Very good chapter one and the idea is not bad keep writing!!

this story has amazing potential. Unfortunately, I couldn't even reach chapter 10 due to how jarring it is to read. There are so many grammatical issues; it's honestly surprising how many people have stuck around to read. if anything, though, it proves how much potential this novel has. I encourage the author to take the time and edit his chapters more carefully. good luck. I'll check in on this book in a month or two. If the Grammer improves, so will my review.
this is a greart book you should read this if you are a fan of fantasy and super powers
I have seen similar books to this before and I really like them but this stands apart a little cause even if they are able to evolve they don't have the able to cross to another race entirely and really looking forward to seeing the MC's final form
