I have to talk about the atmosphere in these chapters because the author is doing something really special with setting. Let me start with the mortuary. It's described almost casually—loosely guarded, constables snoring at the entrance because they slipped away to watch the dragon-head rituals. There's this eerie contrast between the festive village entrance and the dead quiet of the mortuary at the end. Eighteenth Lady literally says 'Not many, just corpses.' And Xu Jichun's response? 'Good. I'll go to the mortuary to catch my breath.' The humor is dry but the image sticks with you—a young man seeking relief from the crowd by going to a room full of dead bodies. That's the kind of detail that makes a world feel lived-in. Then there's Fushan Mountain, shrouded in mist. Eighteenth Lady points it out almost offhandedly, and Xu Jichun asks about Fushan Tower. The tower itself is mentioned but never described—we only know it through the author's note at the end, which reads like a floor plan of ghosts. First floor: Eighteenth Lady. Second floor: Yellow-robed Guest, Hexian, Qiu Sese, Moyu'er, Ren Liuzheng. Third floor: Helan Wang, Su Yingtang, Meng Yingqiu. This is worldbuilding through implication. We don't need a paragraph describing the tower because the character list tells us everything we need to know—it's a hierarchy, a community, a ghostly apartment building. Peachwood Village itself is barely sketched—about ten households, few people during the day, an abandoned house where the murders happened. But that's enough. The desolation amplifies the horror. A third-rank minister murdered in a place so forgotten that the magistrate nearly fainted when he recognized the victim. And the Dragon Boat Festival dragon-head rituals! The author weaves this cultural detail into the plot naturally—constables leaving their posts, the village alive with celebration while a murder investigation unfolds nearby. The juxtaposition is haunting. I also love how the Ji residence is described through action rather than decoration. Madam Zhang 'tidying her appearance slightly' before greeting guests. The tea ceremony. The screen behind which Qin Caifan sits, her voice muffled, sobbing. You can see the entire scene—the layout, the social dynamics, the emotional tension—all without a single architectural description.
Let's talk about what's actually at stake here, because it's way deeper than a love triangle. On the surface: Liu Manqing might cause a scene. Yan Zhao might get exposed as Gu Yu's wife instead of his sister. That's the immediate conflict. But the REAL stakes are internal, and they're brutal. Yan Zhao spent years in the Gu family being treated like a servant. Gu Cheng looked at her with "impatience and disdain." She was brainwashed into believing she didn't deserve better. So when she faces Liu Manqing — a girl who was "carefully raised," pretty, confident, belonging in this world — her first instinct isn't to fight. It's to shrink. "As long as she could stay in the capital city, she could endure anything. Even if she had to step back." But then she lies. "I'm Gu Yu's sister." And the text says her throat tightened. She chose to claim a relationship with him — even a false one — rather than disappear. That's not submission. That's a quiet act of defiance. And Gu Yu? His stakes are different but equally high. He just told his friend "She's my wife. We have a marriage certificate. Isn't it only right that she lives with me?" He's defending her to the world without even knowing she's about to face Liu Manqing. The conflict isn't just external — it's two people who've been treated as disposable learning, slowly, that someone is choosing to keep them.

Not since 'praise the orc' have I seen a more engaging and entertaining work! After our ML's brutal upbringing he is dragged off to be a slave to unlock his true potential. Exceptional set up for an epic adventure I'd love to see more of!! Great work on this story!!! I also like the possible harem giving him a variety of personalities to give him good advice.
So yea......... 5 stars, yep, you heard me 5 stars. The word count is almost done yea. So yea 5 stars. Nice book. I mean, from start to finish, this story had me hooked. Victor's journey, his growth, and his determination to break through his limits make him an incredibly relatable and inspiring character. The world-building is top-notch—there's a clear sense of depth to the setting, and it really feels like you're stepping into a harsh, yet full of potential, world. The pacing is great too, never too slow or too rushed. It’s perfectly balanced between action and character development. I especially liked how the stakes are continuously raised. From Victor’s humble beginnings to the larger forces at play, you can tell the author knows exactly where they’re taking this. The characters, especially Victor, are given so much depth. You really get to understand his thoughts, motivations, and his internal struggles, which makes him feel like a real person. And the way he interacts with others? It feels so natural and realistic. The little details like the way Victor thinks about stats and his ambition to push beyond the limits are fascinating. The stats system isn’t just an arbitrary thing—it really affects the characters’ lives, and it's integrated into the world in a way that feels very real. And then there’s the cliffhanger at the end! The twist with the bounty and the artifact? Yeah, I did not see that coming. It’s the perfect setup for the next chapter in his journey, and I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds.Overall, this book is an excellent start to what promises to be an epic story. If you're a fan of characters who fight against the odds, an immersive world, and a plot filled with twists and turns, this is definitely for you. Highly recommended!
Not gonna lie, this book is amazing I wouldn't mind reading it again!

I accept the privilege of giving the first review. A few things to know about BGBS is that the synopsis you see up there had been really smashed hard to sum up a good chunk of what it actually is.I'm a newbie and I intend to finish this book before any other books, got lots of ideas. So if you want to ask about anything you've read so far, I'll answer as much as I can.I don't give spoilers and don't expect to be seeing much around here, read and enjoy. All corrections are welcome, thank you for embarking on this journey with I and Zlatan Elmore— God Bless You.
great world building and storytelling. One of the best web novels i've ever read. It is very enjoyable to read and you never get bored trust me. Just try it
In a futuristic world of high-tech cultivation, where power reigns supreme, an 18-year-old boy named Yuki stumbles through life with no talent, no skills, and a knack for causing trouble. But fate has other plans—his outrageous luck and a mysterious artifact make him untouchable to gods, unbreakable to enemies, and an enigma to all. As he bumbles through dangerous realms and impossible challenges, Yuki’s foolish antics turn deadly trials into comedic chaos, leaving allies amazed and enemies in shambles. Will this "divine fool" unlock his true potential or just keep defying logic? One thing’s certain: the Void is about to get a lot more interesting.it is very good novel you will also like it as much you keep reading it.
