The stakes in this section are layered in the best way. On the surface, it's about a stolen rooster. But really it's about survival. The Huo family hasn't eaten meat in a MONTH. A big rooster isn't just food — it's dignity, it's pride, it's the difference between surviving and not. When Eldest Aunt Huo starts throwing around lines like 'When are you going to repay that money?' and 'Changsheng is already dead, yet you bring back a young and beautiful girl,' she's not just being mean — she's weaponizing the family's poverty and vulnerability. And the physical stakes escalate FAST. Huo Changfu raising his hand to hit Taohua? That's the moment everything shifts from verbal abuse to real danger. Ning Yuchan pulling Taohua behind her is a protective instinct that says everything about who she's becoming. But the deepest conflict here is the one Ning Yuchan is carrying alone — the uncertainty about whether Huo Jingye is actually dead. Every time Mother Huo says 'Changsheng' while talking about the rooster, it's a gut punch because we know Ning Yuchan is holding onto hope that her husband might still be alive. The author never spells this out directly but it's there in every scene, humming underneath everything. And that final image — Tian Fengying holding the rooster, wiping her eyes, surrounded by enemies — is one of the most powerful moments I've read. She lost the argument but she didn't lose everything.
Okay so I have to talk about how the plot just did this beautiful parallel structure with tutoring offers. First Ye Lei gives Meng Yao this three-page study plan, all serious and encouraging, and she leaves feeling hopeful. Then literally the next scene, Gu Jingcheng blurts out 'I can tutor you!' like it's the most natural thing in the world. Two men, same offer, completely different vibes. The author is playing with this structure and I love it. It's not just coincidence—it's fate knocking on her door from two directions. One is the safe, kind path. The other is the dangerous, complicated one. And she takes the smile from Gu Jingcheng at the very end, which tells you everything about where this story is heading. The dramatic irony is killing me though—she doesn't know he's the guy she's supposed to marry, and he has no idea she's the 'fiancée he despises.' When that reveal hits, it's gonna be explosive. How long can they keep this up?
"As though no matter what she did, her mother thought her perfect." This line hit me like a truck. I know these are borrowed memories — Yu Sangsang inherited this body, this mind, but the emotions feel real. The image of a bedridden mother still gently wiping dirt from her child's face, never once demanding she 'be good,' just loving her unconditionally — that's the kind of tenderness that makes you want to read it again and again. What's devastating is that Yu Xian'er (the original owner) probably had those same memories but couldn't hold onto them, and now Yu Sangsang is the one who gets to cherish them. She says she wants to 'love the Yu Xian'er who seemed lost forever.' That's not just about survival or revenge. That's about emotional inheritance. She's not just occupying this body — she's honoring the girl who lived in it. And then there's the mother's legacy in the bracelet. The Jing clan, once renowned in this realm. The treasures bearing that name. Her mother came from power and prestige and still ended up here, cast aside, dying in illness while her daughter was locked away in a mausoleum. The grief for a mother you never really knew but now feel you should have known — that's a specific kind of ache. I'm already protective of this character and I haven't even seen her fight yet.
thanks for translating the chapters really appreciate your hardwork ❣️❣️❣️
Hello, author here. Although it might seem a bit too glazy since I rated my own story 4.0 it is what it is lol. But again, I'd like to extend the world and the intricacies of the lore and make it at least a 4.5-rated story (Hopefully one day XD)
overall good but this novel not meet my expectations
i really enjoyed reading it the system concept is really good
Just a tip if u want more people to read change the title to “the demons son” instead of “I’m demons son”
The shameless review by the author !!!!!
the writing is very good and the story is very interesting I always wanted a story of the mc being a knight or a divine paladin ......GLORY TO ARCKNIGHT FAMILY
Current chapter-4I guess this is the first review because this is an entirely new novel, somewhere buried under other hundreds of thousands web novels but I believe that this will not be the case because I can see a lot of potential in this novel if done correctly!-----------------------------------------------------------------------Thought the writing is very good---Excellent, the story development and world background is not clear. But what can I expect from a novel with only 4 chapters. In first chapter I was hooked with the story, and so for other chapters. The concept of character integration seems promising but the trope of transmigrating to main character's body from a story, who couldn't concur the world and the MC is challenged to concur the world is cliche. To say it--I have read it in a Po**hwa.??? Stuck in academy's eroge or something.Though, it wuld be best if you could keep consistency.???
The narration of this pure gold. Literally. The system status is new and not a bore to read(like some other ones.) Very curious on why what happened to Mc. Will keeping do find out
