The rabbit motif is EVERYWHERE in these chapters and I can't stop thinking about it. Su Jinle is compared to a rabbit repeatedly—her red eyes from holding back tears, her gentle nature, the way she's seen as harmless and easily pushed around. Even Su Yi'an called her a rabbit back in the army days. But the most devastating use of this symbol is Su Jinle's dream: she turns into a rabbit selling carrots and earning lots of money. A rabbit. Selling. Carrots. It's almost comical, but it's also heartbreaking—she's dreaming of being something small and cute and useful, something that survives by being adorable rather than by being powerful. Then Song Shixu says "Even a rabbit will bite when cornered!" and Su Yi'an snaps "Lele is not a rabbit." That's the thematic core of the entire passage right there. The question of whether she's defined by how others see her (small, timid, substitutable) or by who she actually is. And the dress—of course the dress is the central symbol. It's the one thing Su Jinle creates entirely on her own terms. Gu Jingxiu wants to give it away. Yang Muqing wants to take it by force. Su Jinle refuses to sell it. In a life where everything else is controlled by other people (her marriage, her brother's fate, her economic survival), the dress is hers. The dried flower petals, the braided belt, the fragrance—these are choices she makes. When she finally says "This dress is not for sale," she's not just protecting fabric. She's declaring that she exists. The substitution theme runs through everything too. Su Jinle is Yang Muqing's substitute in Gu Jingxiu's eyes. Her brother is a substitute for the soldier he used to be. And Su Jinle herself is becoming a substitute—for the timid girl everyone expects her to be, she's becoming someone who can say no.
This story starts like any other isekai on this website, but it quickly shows its charm and uniqueness. It’s three lead characters couldn’t be more different, yet they are able to complement each other perfectly. The world building is enough that it doesn’t overwhelm the reader with details about the universe and its system, but it provides tid bits and some hints at the larger stories being ploted by the author. Don’t even get me started on the romance. I was rooting for it to happen for chapters, and the payoff was well worth it. The amount of times the room temperature rose due to reading this novel, were plenty.Give this novel a shot if you’re interested in a polished writing style, fantasy, boy romance, and heavy packed action sequences.
Very good book with great quality in the writing . The characters are interesting and the story well paced for now.
I have read all 20 chapters and all i can say is peak, maybe the will do it at a slower pace to be honest but i want to read chapter after chapter, really recomended.Dark fantasy, romance, and adventures it does have all i like a must read for everyone that wants to try new writers
???????????????????????????????????????????????
Too early to judge the story but I'm leaving this review. Will come back again once this reaches 30+ chapters. Mc is bit sassy through out the entire story. There is also a system which somehow gives him mission and quest what to do
Hello. This is Snowstar, the author of the novel. I want to point out a few things the readers need to consider before starting the novel. (No spoilers included here)1) As you can guess from the title, MC has dual personalities. One is being a pampered husband, a weak and harmless individual who depends on his wives for the rest of the world. And the second is a ruthless assassin who would hunt down the criminals in the dark. When he was single, it was easy to lead dual lives. But how he dealt with it after marriage is the point.3) The world setting is a medieval fantasy, a female-dominated society ruled by matriarchy, almost everywhere. Men are basically fewer in number and are also considered weak in the eyes of women (in general. Not an absolute statement). So, most of the characters you would see in the novel would be female.3) The novel is a harem. Romantic subplots would be seen with every wife. No wife is the main female lead. Everyone has their own set of villains and problems.4) For most of the novel, it may appear like the MC's wives were steering the storyline and the MC might look like a side character but ultimately, it is the MC's story.5) From time to time, explicit content (R-18) will be uploaded too, but those who aren't comfortable with it can simply skip the chapter. There won't be explicit content in the middle of chapters (of course, that doesn't mean there won't be sensual content). Such content would be uploaded in separate chapters entirely. Even if you skip them, you won't miss anything important.6) Romance isn't the central theme of the novel. The central theme is still Fantasy. 7) The update schedule would be mostly around 7-10 chapters/week. Every month on the 20th, there will be a mass release of additional 5 chapters.8) I believe I covered most of the points. If anyone has any doubts, drop your questions below. I will do my best to answer them. thank you.9) If anyone is interested, check out the author's other notable works: My Soul Card is a Reaper; Weapon Seller in the World of Magic; War Online; My Soul Card was a Reaper: The Founder's Tale.
great book and great writing. Been looking for an American football story for a long time and this book didn't disappoint. the only down is that the update can be irregular
Shameless author review, so naturally I’m giving myself 5 stars. Give this book a go if you love weak to strong, system based stories. Thanks to everyone who’s read so far!
