I need to talk about the breakfast scene because it is SO much more than just a meal. Liu Xiyin bites into a steamed bun and nearly throws up because the salt is bitter. And Yan Changye doesn't even notice anything wrong with it. This one detail tells you everything about the era—the material backwardness, the lack of refined salt, the fact that people just accepted this as normal. But what I love is how the narrative uses this: Liu Xiyin's internal monologue goes from 'this is terrible' to 'there are so many people who can't get enough to eat and I'm complaining about a meat bun' and then she starts eating with vigor because she feels guilty. That's character development through food! And then there's the mansion details—the heated flooring, the tea for rinsing the mouth, the water for washing hands after meals. Liu Xiyin realizes the great villain didn't bathe last night not because he's slovenly but because he never intended to sleep. The worldbuilding isn't just decorative; it's woven into the plot and character moments. The snow scene where she's worried about her jade earrings while planning to throw herself into the snow is such a vivid, almost cinematic image. A golden sunshine in a frozen world, preoccupied with accessories while danger looms.
Okay, first of all—20 Physique Points for staying overnight with Ji Xiao, and a Level 3 electric shock as punishment for failure? The system is absolutely deranged. I love it. It's like the universe's most passive-aggressive matchmaker. But here's what actually got me: Su Nuannuan's entire arc in these chapters is a masterclass in strategic patience. She's not just surviving, she's playing 4D chess while everyone else is still learning how the pieces move. The pension confrontation, the four-day ultimatum, the calculated kisses to farm Luck Points—she's methodically dismantling the Ji family from the inside while pretending to be a helpless little girl. And the best part? Ji Xiao has no idea he's being played. He thinks he's the one in control, but every time he leans in, she's already three steps ahead. The reveal about the bite mark on his neck? That's the kind of detail that makes you sit up and go 'wait, WHAT?' One moment she's thinking he's one of two mysterious men from that night, and the next—boom, physical evidence that she might have been intimate with him too. The plot is threading these revelations so carefully that I couldn't look away. Is she really after just the Luck Points, or is there something else driving her? And what happens when Ji Xiao finally figures out she's been using him this whole time?
I am NOT okay. I am absolutely not okay. Let me just say this first: "The incredibly thin chain almost vanished into the glow of her skin, leaving only the moonstone and the curled silver kitten to shimmer with a soft, tranquil light." This description is SO beautiful and it made my heart hurt in the worst way. Because we KNOW what this bracelet represents. It's not romance. It's possession. And Wen Chu, sweet, anxious, transmigration-surviving Wen Chu, she just sends him a photo of it on her wrist like it's some cute couple moment. The tragedy is so thick I can barely breathe. But then—AND THEN—she asks him if he's a "furry-con" because of the kitten motif. I literally screamed. The dramatic irony is UNREAL. She's trying to find flaws in him, and instead she's accidentally bonding over shared love of cats. And Xi Liye? He remembers a childhood kitten that died. His gaze darkens. His aura becomes dangerous. And he immediately thinks about how she looked huddling her neck in the snow, like a pitiful kitten waiting to be claimed. The man is SO unhinged and the author writes it so casually that it hits different. Every sweet moment is laced with something sinister. I can't look away.
The book is very amazing ?? the world settings, the joke's Soo good
I'm just hoping to get more exposure for my story. Please read it and tell me what you like and what may need improving. Thank you for reading it and giving me a shot.
Story is well written, and has quite a bit of future potential. Just remember this though, if you yourself, enjoy writing your stories, then that is the one thing that should matter the most more then anything else. Sometimes, it is not about any sort of money or payment, but should in fact, always be about enjoying sharing your work with your viewers and fans. And that, should always take priority, because if your fans and viewers enjoy reading your work, as well as potential future generations, then that is the one thing, that should matter more to you then anything else. For you see, people are more concerned in living in the here and now. While people me, we like to have a more, long game in mind. Now, don't take this as some sort of negative by any means, I am just saying, that if we want future generations to enjoy this world, then we have to be willing to protect what we love, in an effort to do our best to better our future.
