There's a reason this chapter is called 'The Kiss on the Night of Her Coming-of-Age.' It's not just a romantic scene—it's a threshold moment, and the symbolism throughout is layered in ways that hit different every time I reread it. The moon. It's everywhere in this chapter. Pei Yunting sitting beneath the brilliant moonlight, the reference to Li Bai's 'Raising my cup to invite the bright moon'—this isn't accidental. The moon has always been associated with longing and separation in Chinese literature, and Yan Huaijin has been separated from her for months. He returns under that same moon. The moon witnesses everything: her waiting, his arrival, their first kiss. It's the silent third presence in the scene. Then there's the wine. Pei Yunting rarely drinks—'both her brothers and Yan Huaijin had always forbidden her from drinking too much.' So the fact that she's drunk on her coming-of-age day is significant. The wine represents her loss of control, her vulnerability, the one night where she's allowed to be weak. And Yan Huaijin refusing to let her drink more? That's him trying to protect her even while he's the one who caused her pain in the first place. But the symbol that got me the most is the butterfly. 'A butterfly quietly spread its wings. Silently, it flew into the young man's dreams.' This is the first time the butterfly imagery appears in their story, and it's tied directly to Yan Huaijin's internal realization. The butterfly represents transformation—Pei Yunting has come of age, she's no longer the little girl clinging to him, and he's finally confronting the depth of his feelings. The wings are trembling, the flight is silent, but the impact is permanent. Everything changes after this night, and the butterfly is the author's way of telling us that without saying a single word of exposition.
I need to talk about Xie Xixiao because this man is a walking contradiction and I am HERE for it. On the surface, he's cold, controlled, and completely dismissive of Hu Shen. He tells her not to touch him. He walks faster when she gets too close. He makes cruel remarks about her brother abandoning her. But then—AND THIS IS THE KEY—every single one of these rejection moves is immediately undermined by what his body does. He lets her sit on his lap. He lets her grip his arm like a shield when Yelu Jian appears. His breath catches when she leans against him. His temple twitches when she says something that actually makes him think. The scene with Yuan Shigong is where everything clicks into place. This man came to gloat, to remind Xie Xixiao of his failures, his lost love, his shame. And what does Xie Xixiao do? He says "She shouldn't waste her youth because of me" with such casual detachment that you'd think he doesn't care. But the author writes: "his long eyelashes trembled almost imperceptibly." That's it. That's the whole chapter right there. The eyelash tremor. And then Hu Shen, the most oblivious human being in literature, walks out from behind the tent like nothing happened and asks "Why did he leave so soon?" And Xie Xixiao's entire face probably goes through six emotions in three seconds because this woman cannot be manipulated, cannot be provoked into jealousy, cannot be read. She's immune to every weapon he has. The walk back to the tents is pure gold. She's talking about child-making like it's a business arrangement. He's trying to hurt her and failing. She blocks his path like a tiny fierce guard dog. And when he finally snaps and says "There will be no child-making these next few days," her reaction isn't sadness or anger—it's FIERCE DEFENSIVENESS. "How can that be!" Like he's broken a contract. Like she's the one who was wronged. And somehow, impossibly, that makes him smile.
Let me just say this: the pacing in these chapters is absolutely filthy in the best way possible. The author drops the revelation that Gu Shaonan is ALSO reborn at the exact moment we've been sitting with Lin Sui's perspective, and it completely reframes everything. We spend the first half of this text thinking Lin Sui is the only one with foreknowledge, right? She's the smart one, the one who's already made her money, the one who's fixing her family's fate. And then—BAM—Gu Shaonan's entire internal monologue about stock markets and Shenkex shares just drops on us. "One moment, he and Lin Sui had been moving into their brand-new luxury villa... They died in a car accident. When he opened his eyes again, he had returned to a time before he was married." The structural genius here is that the author doesn't just reveal this for shock value. They immediately follow it with Gu Shaonan's reasoning, which makes the betrayal hit even harder because we understand his logic even as we despise it. The pacing between his cold calculation and Lin Sui's hopeful misunderstanding creates this unbearable dramatic irony. And then the chapter transitions—cutting from Gu Shaonan's heavy emotional turmoil to Lin Sui's almost comedic scene with her mother and the spatula—is brilliant. It's like the author is saying: "Here's a man planning his entire life's betrayal, and over here, a girl is just trying to explain to her mom that the money came from stocks, not prostitution." The cliffhanger at the end with the village office scene, the gossip, the disguised magistrate—all of it is layered tension. Every scene ends with a question or a reveal that pulls you forward. No dragging, no filler. This author knows exactly how to keep you turning pages.

AHHH. I REALLY LIKE THIS. It’s interesting and I just kept reading. I can’t believe it’s ur first time writing love the details and everything!
This review is focused on the free chapters of the novel. I do like the story a lot. The verse is very strong but the underlying story seems to more of mc progress to become the best harem protagonist ever. So yes i do assume that later on this will have a lot of pokemon collection since him gaining more wives and complete love routes give him more Lore Abilities which are basically cheats. Lore abilities are like Development skills from danmachi which you have a random chance of gaining with level up after your excella stuff gets filled with feats. This novel also have that type of system to grow.Mc is a 5 year old child atm so don't expect any smut for a long while. Its looking like a novel that would focus more of slow life aspect that power fantasy.A little bit about the verse.. how should i say, this is a broken verse which takes inspiration from Theology of biblical God and probably more. i am not well versed in this aspect, but since there is a being that completely is like God/Allah and or Tirumati of Hinduism ig. you will know when you read about Losdeus and how he is described in the story. With just this entity alone and how Kalpanas world was describe, it doesn't take a genius to see how absolutely broken of a verse this author has made. and its not even like those other powerfantasy type of novesl which create realms and relams and ridiculous numbers being thrown at you to make it sound op. As the mc is a child, a lot of interaction he has with the clear love interests to have that child monoton. Mc is an isekai protag so, ig he is similar to Rudy in this department.Overall if you are fine with big harem as the main premise and plot, give this a try.
A rich book that draws you to keep reading...? it might truly be worth my time later.. (just chapter1)
