Blackblood24
The stakes in this chapter are layered in the best way. On the surface, it's a love triangle — but dig deeper and there's so much more at risk. For Yang Qin, the business conflict with Boss Chen isn't just about money. It's about survival and proving himself in a world that looked down on him. Chen De is trying to pull him into a partnership that would keep him small — doing the dirty work while the middleman takes the profit. Yang Qin knows this, and his calm acceptance at the dinner table is actually a tactical move. He's buying time. The stakes here are his entire future. For Wen Quhua, the emotional stakes are even higher. That storm scene reveals she's carrying something heavy — a trauma so deep that a thunderstorm can reduce her to a trembling mess. What happened to her? Who was that man in the raincoat? The author is withholding this information like a bomb timer, and every chapter that passes makes me more desperate to know. And then there's the romantic tension — Yang Qin watching her in the rain, holding her when she breaks down, while she has a partner and keeps reminding him of it. The question isn't just whether they'll end up together, it's whether she'll ever be ready to let go of whatever is holding her back. The suspense is killing me.
Okay, let's talk about stakes because this is where the story gets genuinely tense. Wen Yunsheng is at Huiteng for her interview—the final day, one spot remaining—and she's already at a disadvantage because the position was clearly earmarked for the vice president's nephew. She walks in anyway. She gives it her all. Master's degree from St. Dingburg, UK internship experience, a portfolio that should speak for itself. And the HR manager's eyes light up briefly before she glances at the director. That glance says everything. The game was already rigged. But the real stakes aren't just about a job. It's about independence. Wen Yunsheng explicitly tells Lin Xi: she didn't want to rely on Qin Yanchuan's influence because 'if I got into Huiteng through his connections, I'd inevitably have to deal with him a lot in the future.' She'd rather face rejection than be indebted to the brother she had a fallout with four years ago. That is a massive character statement. She's choosing pride and autonomy over convenience, and the reader knows exactly how hard that is. Then Qin Yanchuan shows up at the interview building—not for her, apparently, but the timing is cruel. He appears in the elevator lobby, and she has to pretend she doesn't know him in front of his business associates. The stakes shift from professional to personal in one frozen moment. She loses the job AND she confirms to him that she's willing to erase four years of history to avoid him. What does she stand to lose? Her independence, her dignity, and whatever fragile bridge might have existed between them. What does she stand to gain? Nothing, apparently, because the nephew gets the spot anyway. The tension here is suffocating and I was literally gripping my phone.
I wanted to be this novels first review...so you see, I've been following this from the start even though author decided to change it.All I can say is that this sh*t is peak. you might say how do I know...well, let's call it trust and experience, so believe me and read this ( I'm not someone related to author btw?)In the last version it had 16 chapters and so far it was great even though it was incomplete. And at last, I have a couple of things to discuss with author from my experience related to the last version of this novel1. Please no harem. I know on this platform, the more you write about sm*t, ntr and .... , you'll get more views but it also lowers the quality of the novel and we can see it from other peak and popular novel and none of them are harem at most 2 fls, so please consider about it 2. increase the chapter length. it's too short and make readers tired .2000-3000 is good ig.3. at last update stability. although the novel has a massive potential but if you update 2 or 3 chaps a weak, the novel will eventually lose its readers I'm saying this cuz it happened to me a couple of times as a reader. 2 or 3 chaps a day is good, given the fact that it is still the beginning. All I've said was a suggestion based on my experience and in the end is the authors choice of course. so no offence and I hope you write more.
Another banger! The mc op af, it’s an early review, cus why not?? Keep it up!
Amazing start, I already fell in love with the writing and the way the author tried to depict the characters especially the female lead as the villain when in real sense, she's a nice vulnerable woman who just cares for her child. I like the way the author depicted every emotions. I'm loving the story so far and I can't wait to see what the story is all about. Keep it up author. Your book cover and title was what caught my attention and according to the book synopsis, it's gonna be a rollercoaster of emotions.
Seems interesting and will be more exciting than than the leasure novel from the author in my list.
It's a good political and royal family power struggle story. I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy reading it! Keep it going, author! Waiting for more updates from you!
Dear author, please release more chapters daily. It's kinda slow and waiting doesn't feel good. Free chapter would be nice gift for my power stone.
