"The fastest way to secure a man has never been through romance and sweet talk. It's to cook the raw rice into a meal and take the whole pot away!" This line opened my eyes to everything. The entire novel seems built around this brutal metaphor — women are the rice, men are the hungry ones, and the only way to survive is to be cooked into something useful before someone else eats you. Luo Qingwu isn't just accepting this system; she's learning to be the chef. But the deeper theme here is about VALUE. What makes a woman valuable in this world? Her dowry. Her purity. Her usefulness. Luo Qingwu's entire arc in these chapters is about redefining what value means. She starts as the neglected countryside daughter with nothing, and through sheer cunning, she extracts more dowry, better quarters, and a position of power — all while her father thinks he's the one benefiting. The distillation apparatus is such a rich symbol. It represents her modern knowledge, her scientific mind, her ability to transform raw materials into something potent. She's literally distilling power from ordinary alcohol — just as she's distilling advantage from a situation that should have crushed her. And the marriage itself? It's the ultimate symbol of women as currency. Luo Yuandao is literally trading his daughter to secure political power. Lin Lang is accepting her as a spy planted in his home. Luo Jin'er is furious not because her sister is being sold, but because she was supposed to be the one sold. "As long as the Luojia family thrives, can you thrive." — her father's warning. But Luo Qingwu's entire strategy proves this wrong. She's thriving precisely BECAUSE she's willing to sacrifice the family's morals, not because she serves them.
I have to talk about the dialogue in this section because the author really knows how to make a character's voice do DOUBLE DUTY. Fang Shubai says "Because she's my wife" and Han Sheng just... corrects him. "Your ex-wife." Two words. That's it. Two words and he just completely dismantles Fang Shubai's entire sense of entitlement in front of everyone. No yelling, no drama, just a calm factual statement that says everything. And then he turns to Ruan Qingli and says "Let's not waste our time on someone who doesn't matter." The way the dialogue shifts between characters is also so distinct. Fang Shubai's lines are all demands and transactions - he talks about money, about ownership, about what Ruan Qingli owes him. Han Sheng's dialogue is softer but no less firm - "I'll take you to Youzhou City and find the best physician," "As long as you treat me well, I won't feel deprived." And Ruan Qingli! Her voice has GROWN so much. Early on she's all hesitant questions and apologies, but by the time she's saying "I'm not afraid of hardship" and confidently telling Han Sheng to stand still so she can measure him, you can feel the difference. Even her interaction with Aunt Tang at the breakfast shop - "We're getting married. You have to come to our wedding feast." - she's not hiding anymore. She's claiming it out loud. The dialogue carries the entire emotional arc of these chapters.
This chapter is a masterclass in escalating tension and I need to break down exactly why it works so well. Let's start with the external conflict: Zhou Chenyang vs. his own reputation. He's the City Lord, he has face to maintain, and admitting Xinzhitang is his would make him look like a swindler living off his future wife's family. But the real stakes are internal—and this is where it gets good. Lin Xiuyan has been reborn, which means she knows what's coming, and she's actively reshaping her relationships to serve her own interests. She's not just reacting anymore; she's plotting. The seed of doubt she planted between Zhou Chenyang and Jiang Xinrou? That's not a small thing. That's the kind of thing that grows into full-blown betrayal if left unchecked. And then—BAM—the Ye Junfei reveal. She explicitly says she doesn't want to see him anymore, she hopes he goes to Chengzhufu and never comes back. And what happens? Her father hires him as her tutor. The stakes just doubled. She's trapped in a room with the one person she's trying to avoid, and her own father is the one who locked the door. The suspense here is suffocating in the best way. Every character is walking a tightrope and nobody knows how long it'll hold.
To support my story so I am giving a review by myself . And I hope other people's also like this story and it's story line and support me. and give me feedback so i get more motivation so i will be able to improve my storyline more
Hello everyone! For those who have read from the first chapters released, know that I cut the first 9 chapters to make the story flow more smoothly. Let me know what you think! Don't worry, I will introduce Niko's past later! Thanks for your attention and happy reading to all!
Ah, lust, that age-old sin that men (and women) can't seem to stop. Now, if you're an avid follower of me, you'll know that I would never recommend this to anyone due to the evil nature inside these pages. Ya know: devils, sacrifices, and rituals. Notwithstanding, Zexusgo seems to wish to refine their writing craft. Let's see if we can give him pointers. So the story takes place in this fantasy world that centers on betrayal, transformation, and some survival. Zexusgo employs LITRPG mechanics, so it's clear where this story is headed.Ishar (the MC) is basically sacrificed to a devil (Satanic) by his comrades, which is where his journey begins. Zexusgo does a great job pacing things; we'll give him that. I think it's due to the LITRPG aspect because his action scenes are interesting enough to understand.Do we like Ishar? Heck no. Haha. He's a little complex that struggles too much after transforming. That's good, though, because it allows readers to understand him more. I favour Kael more. That or Rudrik. So you better not slack off on them, Zexusgo. Here are the things to improve on: explaining the LITRPG system so readers aren't lost on Ishar's ability sets, a better background to understand why Ishar was betrayed, and better dialogue (since they seem forced). This is Akito, hoping those who are lost may come to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Fascinating read, writer seems to be following the classic route for the whole revenge - reactivated path for web novels, the setting is refreshing and the text is so elegant! Plot could be better and the tempo is a bit slow though
