I have to talk about the sensory details in this text because the author really knows how to make you FEEL the setting. The very first thing that hits you is the smell. Not just a little bit musty — this house is NAUSEATING. Zhou Qiong has to tie a cloth around her nose just to function. And then she sweeps up TWO DEAD MICE. I actually recoiled reading that. The author doesn't shy away from the gross reality of this family's poverty. But what I love is how the worldbuilding isn't just about misery — it's about resourcefulness. The Wuhuanzi fruit! I had to go look this up after reading and apparently it's a real plant whose fruit contains saponins and can be used as a natural cleaning agent. The fact that these people have never heard of it but Zhou Qiong spots it on her way back and goes "that's what we need" — it shows how disconnected she was from this life before. She's bringing outside knowledge into a world that's survived on grass ash for who knows how long. The river bathing scene is incredibly vivid. The image of Yang Miao holding onto a riverside rock while Zhou Qiong scrubs her, the grime coming off in layers — it's almost cinematic. And then Zhou Qiong gets in the water herself and realizes SHE'S even dirtier than the child. The detail about needing "two tubs of water" minimum if she hadn't washed in the river directly just paints such a clear picture of how deprived these people have been. The setting of just two households on a slope, with the Third Uncle's house on the other side, gives this this isolated rural village feeling. It's not a bustling town — it's somewhere where everyone knows everyone's business and the kids run freely between houses. Gui Bao just dashing out when he hears the children are going somewhere, not even checking with his grandma because she's in the fields — it paints this picture of a community where survival is a daily grind and children grow up fast.
There's a theme running through these chapters that I can't stop thinking about: the gap between what people have and what they need, and how love bridges that gap. Zhong Yaoran eats cold steamed buns and pickled vegetables every day while his coworkers dream of phones and game consoles. He doesn't complain. He smiles when he thinks no one is looking. And then his sister shows up with enough Apple products to outfit an entire dorm and Hermès clothing that costs more than half a year's wages. The coworker who calls the Hermès items 'complimentary' is doing something interesting — it's Zhong Suian's way of minimizing the gap, of making it seem like it's no big deal, like she's not aware of how extraordinary her generosity is. But the narrator immediately undercuts that: 'Since when could Hermès clothing be described as complimentary?' The class consciousness in this book is sharp. And then the shirt-tearing scene — Wang Hao insulting Zhong Yaoran's poverty, calling the clothes fake — it's not just a bullying moment, it's a collision of two worlds. The rich girl's casual wealth versus the poor brother's quiet dignity. Zhong Suian stepping onto the court to defend her brother's clothes isn't just plot progression, it's her choosing to stand with him rather than above him. That's the core of this story, I think.
The synopsis makes you think this would be the opposite of a cliche story but everything so far is just the MC getting into cliche fights and scenarios. Is the mc different and also aware of the cliches? yes. That doesn’t change the fact that the author is writing the same cliche story. no spirit root mc? check. looked down on mc? check. somehow is in a relationship with the hottest and most talented girl in the story? check. Dumb villains every single chapter? check. The only thing different is the mc knows the cliches.
This is the whole package ❤️ hot steamy romance, billionaire, betrayal. Love Love Love this! craving more!
Hi, readers hope you enjoy this novel and please make sure to give me advice on were to improve my novel and what scene you like.
Good book, just reviewed to be the first some to review
Bro has no schedule and likes to post in bursts. But this writing is fire, have you considered writing the Declaration of Independence? Did you write the other 51?
Damn, It's really good. I mean it. I think the writing quality is good and has good pacing. Currently, I am only at chapter 4, And to tell you the truths, it is really engaging. The engaging part being the main premise, The talking to the spirits thing, I really like it, really do.Though, I haven't actually read much yet.pointers---Writing quality: Better than most other novel I read this year, Do mind, I have read a lot. It's really well written."We are Authors, But also a bunch of miserable wrenches who are constantly fighting against, grammar and Punctuation's" - is what I say.Story-line: Maybe not the best, but is good. enjoyed the family moments and the few shocks the author-san managed to convey. But, I think, I probably, have read other stuffs like this too. Meaning, there are lot of same stories out there, so it probably doesn't have the "why its special and you should read it" thing to it. though, I haven't read much yet, maybe it gets better, I'll let author-san cook. cook hard!Character: the mc. He is interesting, that is all I have to say, Haven't got much content on him yet. the family(damn, he has lots) they are i guess, normal, nothing to add there...overall, good read, will read more in the future, do recommend others and keep up the good work author-san. P.S. I like how they sometimes use Japaneses words in the dialogues. They cute. how? I donno either, but they are.
I loved it ??????? Very interesting plot and storyline.Amazing characters. Hope they get a happy and sweet ending.Great work Keep it up author.???????
Okay my little monkeys, I am here with a new novel. This novel is basically a story with a good plot that has smut. It is not the smut that has plot kind. If you are looking for a story with a deep power system, interesting philosophies, good plot, and 3 dimensional characters, I think you are in the right place. Nothing more to say.
I really recommend your writing author!!!
