Okay so let me just say this plot reveal about Wei Zhongxian having a double is honestly one of those things where I went "oh thank god" because I was starting to worry the whole Jiuqiansui mystery was going to fizzle out into nothing. Liu Jiancheng breaking under interrogation and spilling that the voice sounded different, that the thumb ring was real but the person wasn't — it's a classic setup but the execution here is solid because it doesn't just drop the info and move on. Chongzhen's internal reaction is what makes it land. He literally goes from confused to connecting the dots in real time, and Lin Yuan's gossipy inner voice about TV drama doubles is the perfect comedic beat that keeps it from getting too heavy. The fact that this revelation immediately pivots Chongzhen into action — deciding to use Lin Yuan as his eyes in court — means the plot doesn't just reveal information, it uses that information to change the trajectory. That's good storytelling. Wei Zhongxian isn't just a looming threat anymore, he's a cunning operator playing a deeper game, and now Chongzhen has to figure out how many officials are in his pocket. The stakes just went up a notch.

SFGTMH is a well-written story with a lot of potential. TLDR: I enjoyed it.13 chapters in, there are a lot of typical guys, but the main character manages to stay refreshing with his dedication to fatherhood and a bit of hyperbole to how he reacts to situations.Setting-wise, I think the world could do with a bit more fleshing out, perhaps during the MCs' next downtime.It's a bit early to comment on character development, but I hope that the daughter especially is shown to change over time as she grows, given her age and the stressors of the situation.

The story shows promise, even though it's still early. I'm enjoying it so far; the writing quality is solid, and the updates come regularly. Mc is kind of a pushover, but I think he'll get better eventually, so I need to read through it. Overall, it is enjoyable; I recommend it.(Spoiler ahead)I also hope he doesn't get close to his family just because he lost his memory. When he finally retrieves his memories, I hope he makes them pay for what they've done.
