Let me ask you something — what's scarier than an abuser who's angry? An abuser who's confused. Because that's what happens in this book. Shen Yingying stops fighting back. She stops crying. She stops trying to please him. And Xie Fangzhu — who has spent his whole life knowing exactly how to control her — has no idea what to do. The stakes here are enormous, but not in the way you'd expect. It's not about whether she'll survive physically — though that's always a concern. It's about whether she'll survive emotionally. Whether she'll keep believing that love is supposed to hurt. Whether she'll ever learn that she deserves better. And for Xie Fangzhu, the stakes are just as high — but different. It's not about whether he'll lose her. It's about whether he'll ever understand why he's losing her. Whether he'll ever see that his anger was never about her, it was about himself. Whether he'll ever learn to be anything other than what he's been. The author writes this conflict with such precision. Every scene builds on the last. Every conversation raises the stakes a little higher. And by the time we reach the end, there's no going back. No fixing. No undoing. This is what happens when the victim stops playing the role they've been assigned. The whole system collapses. And the abuser is left standing in the wreckage, wondering what went wrong. The answer, of course, is that nothing went wrong. Everything went exactly as it was supposed to. The victim finally woke up. And the abuser finally had to face what he'd done.
Let me talk about the conflict architecture in these chapters because it's surprisingly layered. On the surface, there's the obvious external conflict: An Juexiao vs. Director Wu. He sabotages her schedule, gives her a moldy hotel room, makes snide comments about her being recommended by Li Lingyin. It's petty, it's cruel, and it's realistic. The entertainment industry is full of people like Wu—small men with small grudges and the power to make life miserable for newcomers. But the author raises the stakes in a clever way. An Juexiao isn't just fighting a grumpy assistant director. She's fighting the memory of being pushed out of a crew by Xin Yan, who "went through so much effort to push me out of the crew." Every scene she films is a chance to prove herself, and every slight from Wu is a reminder of how easily she could be pushed out again. The stakes aren't just professional—they're existential. This role could define her career or bury it. Then there's the internal conflict, and this is where it gets interesting. An Juexiao is playing Witch Qing, a character who "slaughtered the heartless man who had betrayed her sister along with his entire family" and "fell deeper into demonic corruption." She's essentially performing a role that mirrors her own journey—wronged, pushed to the margins, choosing vengeance over forgiveness. The meta-layer here is thick. Is she channeling her own anger into the performance? Is that why the director liked her so quickly? And Gu Zhanran's conflict is more subtle but no less real. He's a man who controls everything through money and influence, but with An Juexiao, he has to restrain himself. "I respect her choice." He could force things, he could bully his way into being her savior, but he chooses patience. That restraint IS the conflict. The Li Lingyin reveal at the end adds another layer of dramatic irony. We know she's manipulating the situation, but An Juexiao doesn't. The reader is left wondering: how long before the trap springs? And when it does, will Gu Zhanran be able to protect her without crossing the line into controlling? The tension here is excellent because it operates on multiple frequencies simultaneously. Professional stakes, emotional stakes, romantic stakes, and the looming threat of Li Lingyin's scheme. The author isn't resting on any single conflict—they're stacking them.
A clever twist on the usual reincarnation trope. Smart hero, rich setting, and dynamic characters. Need more chapters—I’m so excited! Keep it up!
Finally another good Horror novel. This book is spooky. and the author didn't drag the story out. Each arc is short, filled with interesting characters that actually show up again instead of disappear lol.My favorite one so far is Tiger.
I really appreciate how grounded this is emotionally, even with all the otherworldly elements. The characters feel like real people dealing with trauma, not just plot devices.

Honestly the image portrays this story to be just nsfw but so far it has been the exact opposite and very enjoyable and not just a sex fest the humor in it is nice and just like it a lot and would recommend for you to read it as well!
This first chapter of has grabbed my attention from the very first page. The vibrant descriptions of the Dragons Festival and the diverse races of Romero create a rich and immersive world that I'm already eager to explore further. The sudden, violent eruption of the Voidrifts is a brilliant way to shatter the initial peace and introduce the central conflict. Jorn's confusion and disorientation as he grapples with his new reality are palpable, making him an instantly relatable character. The mystery surrounding his reincarnation and the nature of his chaotic power, the "chaos flame," is incredibly compelling. The author does a great job of balancing world-building with action, keeping the reader engaged without overwhelming them with information. The encounter with the Elves, though brief, adds a layer of complexity and hints at the dangers lurking beneath the surface of this seemingly peaceful world. The pacing is excellent, with the tension steadily building towards the explosive climax where Jorn unleashes his power. The writing style is engaging and evocative, painting a vivid picture of Romero and its inhabitants. The chapter ends on a fantastic cliffhanger, leaving me desperate to know what happens next. I'm particularly interested in seeing how Jorn will learn to control his unpredictable power and how he will navigate the treacherous political landscape of Romero while facing the threat of the ever-expanding Voidrifts. I'm definitely hooked and can't wait to read more!
Greetings! I really liked the premise of this novel, and I think it would improve much more if a grammar checker is used in helping in the editing part. All in all, everything is good.
....please continue.....aki i cannot wait...just.....continue
