There's something really beautiful about the scarf moment at the beginning. Xue Chen shoves his scarf at Xia Zhen while looking sulky, and she immediately puts it back on him saying she doesn't need it because 'my elegant neck shouldn't be hidden.' On the surface it's just sibling banter, but look closer. Xue Chen giving away his scarf is an act of care he can't verbalize. He's cold, he's upset, but he still notices SHE's cold and gives her something warm. And Xia Zhen refusing it—not because she doesn't want it, but because she won't let him sacrifice for her. It's this tiny dance of giving and refusing that mirrors their entire relationship. Then there's the music itself as symbol. Xia Zhen choosing those terrible pop songs—'Poisonous Perfume,' 'I'll Love Even in Death'—is almost like she's trying to drown out her own feelings with noise. The lyrics are all about obsessive, desperate love, and she's singing them while trying to push Pei Cheng'an away. The irony is almost painful. She's performing devotion to someone she doesn't love while the person who actually loves her watches from the sidelines. The KTV room itself is symbolic too—it's a space of performance, of hiding behind songs and laughter. Everyone is performing: Xia Zhen performing disinterest, Xue Chen performing indifference, Pei Cheng'an performing calm acceptance. The walls of a KTV room can't contain all these unspoken truths.

Interesting book written in first person POV. There's a good build up moment which indicates good story telling. The plot may look common at the start but it's got its own uniqueness as you continue to read. Few adjustments, grammar, punctuations and spelling. Fairly technical but can easily be fixed. Recommended to those who like cool and collected MC.
