I started this book at 11 PM. It is now 3 AM. I have no regrets except that my eyes are burning. The pacing is absolutely relentless. Chapter 1: transmigrates into a horror situation, escapes, meets the male lead, heads to the city. Chapter 2: kicks down the door, destroys her husband verbally, exposes the conspiracy, collapses, gets a system. That is TWO chapters and we've already had the inciting incident, the confrontation, the first major twist, AND the system activation. Most novels take ten chapters to get this far. This one does it in two and still has room to breathe. What I love most is how the author controls the tension. Every scene ends on a note that demands you read the next one. Chapter 1 ends with Ruan Zheng deciding to hide and then immediately running into Song Zheng — a perfect pivot from survival mode to something more hopeful. Chapter 2 ends with her consciousness floating above her body and a system voice asking if she wants to bind. That cliffhanger is brutal. The scene transitions are also smooth. She goes from the village hut to the woods to the county town to the military compound and it never feels rushed despite covering a huge distance. The author knows exactly when to speed up (the escape sequence) and when to slow down (the confrontation scene, where every line of dialogue lands like a punch). I'm already obsessed. Send help.
The stakes in these chapters are layered in the best possible way, operating on at least three levels simultaneously and the author never lets you forget any of them. On the personal level, the conflict is Wen Youan versus Shi Ruyi's indifference. He's risking everything—his reputation, his safety, his dignity—just to make her look at him. The scene where he grabs her calf and refuses to let go is terrifying and heartbreaking because you can feel how much he stands to lose. If she truly doesn't remember him, if she truly doesn't care, what then? The author makes you feel the weight of that possibility in every line. When he shows her his hands and she starts remembering something, the stakes just skyrocket because now there's a chance—however slim—that she might actually see him. On the political level, the stakes are empire-shaking. Shi Ruyi is systematically dismantling the Third Princess's faction. She has Minister Lin targeted, her own daughter as both weapon and wound, and Baiweilou as her secret instrument of power. Every move she makes could mean life or death, imprisonment or execution. And she's doing this while also trying to avoid an unwanted marriage proposal. The fact that she can hold all these conflicts in her head simultaneously without breaking is what makes her such a compelling protagonist. But the most interesting conflict is the internal one, the one between Shi Ruyi's past self and her present self. She looks back on her former self with contempt—"She should never have believed that anyone would treat her well without a reason." She's built a new identity on the foundation of that pain, and Wen Youan's persistent affection threatens to crack that foundation. If she lets herself remember him, if she lets herself care, she risks becoming the foolish girl she swore never to be again. That's the real stakes here—not just romance or politics, but the fundamental question of whether she can trust anything or anyone. The suspense is maintained brilliantly because the author never resolves any of these conflicts. Just when you think the personal drama is the focus, the political intrigue pulls you back. Just when you think Shi Ruyi is in complete control, Wen Youan's question—"Do you really not remember me?"—undermines everything. The story keeps you off-balance in the best way.
Hello, this is the author. Thank you to all of you readers who read this novel, I will continue to update this novel and improve it every time. -Zrukk
This book is not a masterpiece, it is just a cliched isekai novel with no innovation. Moreover, for those of you who like main characters who stand above all, cruel and heartless, cunning and manipulative, perfect and never make mistakes, invincible and untouchable; then this story is not for you.- Writing Style? Honestly, my writing style is simple.- Main Character? He's not a hero. But still principled, like keeping his promise. I plan to make him have a hobby of collecting exotic animals in the future.- MC Power? Wish-granting system and Extract. Fighting style is ninja-like, focusing on speed, stealth, and careful strategy.- Romance and Harem? Maybe yes and no. Honestly, I'll be flexible and follow your wishes as a reader.- Details? Remember that this is a Webnovel. It is not released in full directly, but is updated from time to time. Even if there are plot holes, they will be patched up in future chapters.- The World? Western fantasy with a bit of Sci-fi flavor. For those of you who like mythology and legends, such as the gods of Olimpus or Asgard, you might like it.- Other Characters? Maybe I'm being a bit arrogant, but I invested a lot of time in thinking about the powers they have, thus making them unique. But you're the one who judges whether it's cliché or unique, so please read on.I hope you like my book and leave a positive review. I really hope this book gets a lot of positive reviews, so please. Thank you for reading my book.
absolutely mind-blowing and captivating novel, Author?
I'm done with the first volume and now I'm on chapter 31! wow this keeps getting better!
very interesting keep up the good work perfect
Has this by any chance been dropped or is it still on going
So far, the story is fascinating. I thought the beginning would be typical, like the first chapter of all those manhwas with the usual clichés, but actually, no—the author plays well with them. I'm reading slowly but surely, and I hope this story has a good ending. But with the MC’s alignment, I'm starting to get worried.
This is my first time writing something outside of school with no prompt or anything, so please be honest and provide some helpful criticism. This will not only improve my writing in the future, but also make it more enjoyable for you guys! I will try to upload a chapter 5-7 times a week!
I wanted to read more before leaving a review but... Fuck it. This novel is truly incredible, the writing style, the background and the fast paced action all adds to the quality. Give it a try, you'll love it.
