I totally feel drake's pain
this book is beautifully written can't wait to read more
unique plot and not so cliche
The e-Sport aspect isn't particularly significant and doesn't focus heavily on the game. I'm unsure if it will be developed further in the story, as it is barely mentioned at the beginning.
I generally don't enjoy mecha stories, but when I come across an engaging one, I can't help but continue reading.
- **MC**:
- I expected an overpowered main character (MC), and while he does exhibit some OP traits, he has numerous disadvantages that make him less overpowering than anticipated. Although he is highly skilled in piloting mechas, he struggles with physical combat and gun usage (at least from what I've read so far; this might change in the future). So far, he has been fortunate because the original owner's personality has minimized his need to act. However, he is afraid of confrontations due to his lack of experience and uncertainty about what to do in such situations.
- For instance, during his first encounter with an alien, he had to imagine he was playing a game to prevent panic. Witnessing deaths around him was both frightening and enraging. After seeing someone shot right in front of him, he had to force himself to remain calm to avoid detection by the organization he is part of. Ultimately, he felt scared and guilty after experiencing death up close, without the involvement of mechas or aliens.
- There are also secrets surrounding him and the "original" Ji Mingzhu, which he discovers later by examining the owner's possessions. His "amnesia" complicates his interactions with people who knew or interacted with him before. However, his intelligence allows him to form alliances, whether temporary or permanent, with individuals who can protect his life.
- He is not exceptionally strong but is quite intelligent, except for occasional childish actions, like showing off with his sword in front of thousands of people.
- The MC is mostly indifferent but has moments that make you want to laugh at him because he can be quite naive at times.
- **AI**:
- I really like the AI, Axiu. They genuinely try to assist the MC rather than harm him, which is a refreshing change from reading too many novels with evil or insensitive systems. Axiu often comes across as more mature than the MC, leading to humorous exchanges filled with sarcasm. Their relationship is quite endearing, especially when Axiu takes care of the MC, such as ordering or preparing food.
- **Setting**:
- The world-building and mystery are incredibly intriguing. This is one of the best stories I've read because it strikes a perfect balance between providing enough and withholding just the right amount of information about the MC's world. It feels like I am experiencing everything—the city, monsters, mechas, and people—through the MC's eyes. The descriptions are vivid, and with my active imagination, I can easily picture the daunting city above them.
The story is intensely gripping at times, and I am eager to see how the author concludes it based on the high quality of the narrative so far.
Another outstanding book from the author! Their novels are truly becoming my favorites!
This novel is exceptional; the protagonist possesses a captivating blend of traits. He exudes kindness, warmth, intelligence, logic, and striking good looks. He's simply extraordinary, beyond words. The heroine, an innocent feline, embodies a naive understanding of happiness, creating a delightful contrast. Together, they form the most enchanting couple I've ever encountered in both manhwa and Korean literature. Their relationship blossoms swiftly and with a touch of sweetness, making for a heartwarming narrative. The artwork is visually stunning, sparking my interest to seek out the original novel. If the translation could be completed promptly, I would be overjoyed; my anticipation is almost unbearable. Please excuse any errors due to my non-native English. Thank you immensely for your efforts.
it is good if like horror
there some places where you will this is all stupid but there will be meaning to it later
MC kinda of misuses his powers
I am the same, The Perfect Run is amazing, the author has other novels tho:
1- This one
2- The Perfect Run, and a side story.
3- Kairos
4- Underland
Sadly only the first two are here.
yeah dont know why I am here since I never read sm*t *cough* well here we go then...
Does it have a sad ending?
Very cute, simple, short, and fluffy novel, well-crafted and completed the whole story. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I suspect this novel is a rip-off of "You Plan to Kill Me with Meng?" or perhaps both are derivatives of another story.
The novel I'm reading is a heartwarming tale with a relatable protagonist, sort of a Gary Sue character. Despite that, I'm enjoying it. What I appreciate about this story's handling of misunderstandings is that the main character (MC) quickly realizes others' misconceptions and playfully lets them persist. He reasons, "It doesn't hurt anyone, and I don't have the energy to clarify." The unique aspect is that the MC, at 27, has recently quit his job, making it believable that he might have secretly honed his skills for a decade without prior fame. This sudden rise to stardom still feels intriguing.
However, one flaw I find is the author's tendency to excessively detail every minor event, sometimes dragging on irrelevant scenes. For instance, if the story takes place on Tuesday, they'll describe the MC's actions and then delve into a six-paragraph deep analysis of a side character's mundane activities, which aren't crucial to the plot. As a reader, I'd prefer focusing on the MC's experiences or their interactions.
On the bright side, the world of movies and dramas within the story is fascinating – almost like a separate, well-written novel. It's unusual how these subplots capture attention more than the main narrative.
Overall, the book is an enjoyable read for fans of stories with Gary Sue-like protagonists, like myself. It's not overly absurd, and there aren't too many annoying antagonists. But if you're looking for deep character development or engaging plotlines, you might want to explore other options.
I absolutely adore the narrative. The female protagonist is incredibly intelligent, and honestly, all the main characters exhibit remarkable wit. What's more, the plot brims with unexpected twists. However, I've come across a review mentioning a potentially sad conclusion... If it turns out to be tragically end, I'm unsure whether I'll continue reading.
*facepalm moment*
