Can we just talk about He Shixia for a moment because THIS MAN is fully, completely, irrevocably gone for Ning Yichu and it is the most entertaining character arc I have ever witnessed. Remember when the family was discussing how to get rid of Ning Yichu after he bore their child? And now here he is, picking up a mop and cleaning bird's nest porridge off the floor because his 'legal spouse' asked him to? The contrast is absolutely hilarious. He Shixia went from cold family heir to devoted husband in what seems like record time, and honestly? I respect the commitment. But what's really interesting is how his relationship with the rest of the family has shifted. He's not just defying them—he's actively choosing sides. When He Grandfather threatens Ning Yichu with a cane, He Shixia BLOCKS IT. When He Dingbang yells at Ning Yichu to shut up, He Shixia says 'Uncle!' like he's defending a misbehaving toddler. The power dynamic in this family has completely flipped, and He Shixia is the one holding the cards now. Meanwhile, Ning Yichu is this fascinating character who seems to have zero respect for anyone in the He family except He Shixia, and yet he's also the most dangerous person in the room. He's pregnant, he's sharp-tongued, and he's strategically dismantling fifty years of family lies with the casual demeanor of someone ordering dinner. Their dynamic is equal parts absurd and genuine—I genuinely believe He Shixia cares about him, not just the pregnancy. And that makes me curious about where this goes. Is Ning Yichu playing a longer game, or has he genuinely caught feelings too? Because if he has, the family is about to get wrecked on a whole new level.
I started reading this chapter at like 11pm and I swear I didn't stop until 2am. The pacing is absolutely relentless. It opens with Chief Astronomer Jiang storming into the Song residence, already furious, and from there it's just one revelation after another. First the fire accusation, then the servants' testimony, then Jiang Zhaoying turning the tables on Madam Song, then the Song Chengyu confrontation, then the fake death reveal, and THEN Shen Yuefu gets dragged in as living proof. Each beat lands like a punch and you're just waiting for the next one. What I love most is how the author controls the information flow. We don't know Song Chengyu's true intentions until we're deep into the scene, and even then we only get glimpses through his internal thoughts. The reveal about Shen Yuefu not being a virgin? That comes at the very end, with Jiang Zhaoying's gaze drifting to her arm and Shen Yuefu turning pale. It's a perfect cliffhanger. And the scene transitions are seamless - you go from the heated argument about the fire to the emotional confrontation with Song Chengyu to the shocking entrance of Shen Yuefu and it all feels natural, like these conversations are just escalating organically. The author also does this great thing where they let moments breathe. After Jiang Zhaoying slaps Song Chengyu, there's this beat of silence where everyone just stares at him. You can feel the weight of that moment. Then she immediately pivots to the real question about the fake death. No wasted words, no filler. Every sentence drives the scene forward.
Yup it is childish! But maybe it's too early to judge, but I feel like the story will grow into a boring piece, you still have time you can work and come up with a better story, as the story is in its beginning stage I give it at least a 3 star because there are chances for both upliftment and failure
I like the story so far, mystery around the world is so well done, keep up the good work ?
Overall I I like the novel, it’s something new and I think it has big potential, however I would like it if you help Chelsea or join them in someway. (Personal request)

Amazing ?? and interesting highly recommend
Keep updating please!!!Interesting start
I mean this is quite decent. Although by a friend I decided to leave a review. I love books set in the mediaval times and this delivered. Gritty but impressive.Highly recommend!!!
Fell onto this book through recommendations, and got hooked. Characters are fleshed out so well - some common archetypes, but def a lot more subtly done than many books; plot/story builds up realistically, not crazy fast or unconnected way; and setting is really well-built so it's easy to be "in" it. Really enjoying this book, def reading faster than I had planned so I'm excited for more updates! (I rated update stability as 3 bc I have no idea; it says 25 chs a week, so it's been on here only 2 weeks?) I totally recommend this book though, esp if updates are steady, and esp if you don't want the typical aloof, abusive ML and weak, "victim" FL.
