Let me just say this: the dialogue in this chapter is genuinely good and I want to talk about why. First, Shen Xi's voice is instantly recognizable. When he says "I'm better at sports" before his brother can speak, that's competitive and clipped. When he later says "Can we wrap this up? If you can't handle losing, don't play," that's impatient and sharp. His sentences are short, his tone is dismissive, but he's clearly deeply invested in everything happening around him. Shen Ci is the opposite—his dialogue is softer, more deliberate. "Do you want it? This one's for you." Simple, direct, no edge. Cheng Yu and Cheng Yuan's banter is perfect sibling energy. Cheng Yu complains about the hundred-yuan prize, Cheng Yuan shuts him down with a look and a threat about going hungry, and Cheng Yu immediately becomes obedient. "Sis, I'll definitely do well." That's a whole relationship in three lines. Jiang Rui's dialogue is the most revealing in a negative way. "What were you doing? If you had caught it just now, we wouldn't have lost! You're so clumsy, what were you even doing?" Repetitive, aggressive, blame-shifting. The author doesn't need to tell us Jiang Rui is a bully—we hear it in her words. And Su Tang! Her lines are barely there. "Hmm… it's okay, I guess." Flat, uncommitted, almost robotic. But that's her voice. She doesn't perform emotion the way everyone else does. The live stream comments are a narrative device I'm still figuring out. They're written in a very specific internet-Chinese style that translates to a kind of chaotic group commentary. Sometimes they're funny, sometimes they're helpful, sometimes they're just noise. But they give the chapter a modern, meta quality that fits the variety show setting perfectly.
I have to talk about the writing style here because the dialogue in this book is genuinely excellent. Each character has a distinct voice and the author never lets them blur together. Shen Xiaomei's lines are all sharp edges and weak courage. "You shameless girl. How dare you come here?" — she sounds angry but the narration immediately undercuts it with "loud voice but weak courage." And then when Yao Qingqing turns the tables: "Little Xia, are you sixteen or seventeen? How do you know so much about men and women?" — Xiaomei's response is pure panic, shoving Yao Qingqing inside, locking doors. Her dialogue doesn't need to be long because her actions scream. Yao Qingqing's voice is her strongest asset. "What is face? Can it sell? For how much?" That line is philosophy and weapon combined. And when she's bargaining with Father Shen: "If you are unwilling to part with the child, you cannot trap the wolf." She speaks in metaphors that hit like punches. Grandma Yao barely speaks but every line counts. "Lies! Does one trip take half an hour?" — six words and you know exactly who this woman is. No nonsense, sees through everything. The narrative voice itself is worth praising too. It's restrained, almost detached, which makes the emotional moments hit harder. When Yao Qingqing counts her money and "felt no guilt about extorting the Shen family" — the author doesn't judge her, just states it. That neutrality is a stylistic choice that builds trust with the reader. We're not being told how to feel, we're being shown what happened and letting us decide.
An absolutely gripping read! The world-building is immersive, the characters are compelling, and the plot keeps you hooked from start to finish. Can't wait for more!
Shameless first review here, please let me know what you think of the novel
Nioh's a badass, even if he's a little full of himself. His power over the waves is sick. The action is non-stop, and the mystery of what happened to the world keeps you guessing. If you're a fan of seeing how things are built and appreciate some technical detail in your sci-fi, this is a good pick.
This review is based of chapter 32 so things might change later on if author keeps updating. (Novels like these come and dropped so frequently anyway)So this is an isekai story and focuses on harem as the main premise. MC is a harem seeker protagonist so if any of that is off pudding for you then leave. Mc isekaid as he died due to a mistake from a witch who casually kaboomed endless realities and mc's universe was one of them. yadayada. no god giving him special perks but a witch. MC start as baby and is now a 5 year old. so this clearly does take inspiration from Mushoku with the start of child mc. i think he will stay a child for a long while. He has no official wife or lover but has 5 love interests who are all super powerful beings and mc is basically trash in comparison. so expect slow progression with that. Mc's cheat with systems are very unique, its like that super harem god system as in the amount of love routes he clears, he gets more abilities and so. His special abilities are something i have never seen before being used properly. i wont spoil it but you will be pleasently surprise with the perks he gets. This doesnt have those generic level 1 to 9999-- system level up stuff at all so dont expect some linear progression. Background lore of the world does seem pointless for the most part because mc really only cares about his making a big af harem and become a warlock and reach the main world where the Witch exist. (I did left out a lot of stuff which includes how busted the Universe seems to be even without try harding at all)Overall a casual harem novel which has a bait af title coz lets be real most of us who clicked this novel prob expected something else.
Wow just wow. I have to say this is one of the best Novels I have ever seen. Thanks for the great stroy Autor. We'll yes at the start the MC clearly has a really big plot armor but later it feels like the MC even has bad luck what is really rare in novels. Even the character growth is really good. In two years he growths from an actor to an actual boss and after that to a Monster. I also like how you can understand why he changes. So again many thanks for the awesome story.
When I clicked on this story, I expected something completely different based on the title. What I got instead? Chaos. Glorious, nonsensical chaos that somehow works! We start in a sci-fi world with armors, systems, and regressors. I thought, "Okay, I've seen this setup before." And then BAM! The MC dies in the most ridiculous, over-the-top series of events imaginable. It’s the kind of "Did that really just happen?" moment that hooks you instantly.Next thing you know, the MC wakes up as the most overpowered sultan ever. I’m thinking, "Alright, time for some power fantasy goodness!" But nope, things get even wilder. At this point, I’m just along for the ride! Now we’re watching the sultan's life unfold like a divine Netflix special, projected to the entire world. And this supposed “villain” of the story? He’s not even a bad guy... he’s relatable, kind, and shockingly likable. I’m sitting here wondering, "How does this guy become the villain? Is he even really the villain, or is this all one big misunderstanding?"The writing is sharp, the twists are insane, and the characters? Chef’s kiss. The author has me hooked with all the layered storytelling. It’s like they’ve crammed three different genres into one and somehow made it work.
I like this novel, even though most of it is more like a slice of life. But I like the conversation, even though it seems a bit long to start the harem.
A very good read You shouldn't miss it Combination of comedy and romance, definitely something that will get you glued till the end. You would laugh, and fall in love while reading this, trust me Support me guys ?
This web novel is an absolute gem! The plot twists, the betrayal, and Draven's cunning nature had me hooked from the start. Honestly, it's so good that I might just have to reread it... twice. ? Save this novel to your library, or risk having Varrick glare at you with intense disappointment! Trust me, you don't want that smoke. ?
Like the other two reviews here, I too am giving this 5 stars because, a) I know it's going to be good, the author's already proven himself and it's a Warlock of the Magus World fanfic, and b) Because I hope to god he finishes this one, bro really left me edging with Records of the Dark Magus
