This song title keeps echoing in my head. Single Love Song. On Valentine's Day. It's not just a plot device—it's the thematic heartbeat of the entire section. The story is full of people who are single in different ways. Xu Zhiyuan is single in marriage—she's married to a man she barely knows, living in a house that feels foreign. Her father is single in love—married to his wife but clearly preferring his eldest daughter. The sister is single in loyalty—she eloped and left everyone else to clean up the mess. And the song becomes this anthem for everyone who's been told they're not enough, not wanted, not chosen. The lyrics Xu Zhiyuan sends He Jiayu—"I can't hold onto love, always watching helplessly as it slips away, happy people are everywhere in the world, why can't I be one of them"—that's not just a pop song, that's her entire emotional state. But here's the thing: she wrote it. She took that pain and turned it into something beautiful that millions of people can relate to. The song charting at #1 isn't just professional success—it's validation. She exists. Her feelings matter. She's not invisible anymore. And the He family's rigid traditions around eating, about hierarchy and duty, contrast so sharply with Xu Zhiyuan's world where love is supposed to be earned through obedience. The story keeps asking: what does it mean to belong? And maybe the answer is that you build your own family, note by note.
Okay so I need to talk about Wen Qing because this woman is absolutely fascinating and I think I finally get why the author made her such a complex character. On the surface she's just 'the general who opposes the match,' but the scene where she lies to Wen Youan about Shi Ruyi visiting? That broke me a little. She stutters and coughs while saying it. She's not a liar. The text literally says 'Unaccustomed to lying, Wen Qing stuttered and coughed as she spoke.' And yet she does it anyway because her son hasn't eaten in days. This is a woman who would rather be despised by her own child than watch him waste away. But then—then she goes back in and tells him the truth about his name. 'You're called You'an because... I hope I can bless you with a peaceful life.' That line hit me like a truck. She's not pushing him away because she hates him liking the Crown Princess. She's pushing him away because she's seen the court. She knows what happens to people who get involved with Shi Ruyi's side. And the most heartbreaking part? Wen Youan believes her lie. 'Growing up, his mother had never lied to him.' He trusts her completely, and she uses that trust as a weapon to keep him alive. I don't know whether to applaud her or cry. Meanwhile Shi Ruyi is this enigmatic figure who can't even notice her own mother's guards when they're right there. 'Shi Ruyi felt quite worthless.' She has all this power and yet she's blind to half the world around her. The contrast between these two women—Wen Qing who sees everything and acts decisively, and Shi Ruyi who is powerful but oblivious—creates this incredible tension in every scene they're in together.
I need to process what I just read because my heart is actually hurting for Xue Ning. The emotional core of this story is devastating. Here's this girl who has spent her entire life trying to earn her family's love, who smiled and was kind to everyone, who worked like a sinner seeking atonement—and they would literally watch her die. The scene where she's forced to drink the poisoned wine while her brothers hold her down? I was shaking. She's screaming that it's poisoned, she's begging them to believe her, and they just... force her to drink it. And then the worst part isn't even the poison—it's that they leave her there. They tell her to walk back alone, and when she finally makes it, they're shopping with Xue Mingzhu like nothing happened. The emotional betrayal cuts deeper than any physical harm. But what really got me was Xue Ning's internal journey. She's not hysterical. She's not crying and begging. She just... stops. Her heart becomes like dead ashes. That line—"there was no sorrow greater than the death of the heart"—that's the moment everything changes. She's not just surviving the poison; she's surviving the death of her hope. And then there's this tiny moment with the prayer beads. Rendong mentions that Xue Ning spent countless days and nights carving Buddhist scriptures onto each bead, sending them to Tianguang Si to be blessed—all to protect her eldest brother. And now she's keeping them. That's not just about the beads; that's about her finally choosing herself.
It is a really good story with a good balance of SMUT and political intrigue.Everything have meaning. Character development is well-done. And The Pacing is relentless which keeps things interesting. 100% Recommended!!!
Your work is great, my friend, and it spreads positive energy honestly, I couldn't stop reading it since I saw itPlease don't stop, brother, I really hope you continue to the extent that a million chapters come out
This is so cool, I can imagine a really great urban fantasy genre being portrayed in each of your narratives, Your writing is also very neat, the storyline is very interesting and makes me curious about the continuation of the main character who is at the lowest level, keep fighting!!! This story has great potential.
I’d be happy to help! Since you didn’t specify a particular story, I’ll write a short review of a classic fictional tale: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. If you had something else in mind, feel free to let me know! The Little Prince is a timeless novella that weaves a delicate blend of whimsy and wisdom. The story follows a young prince who travels from planet to planet, encountering quirky characters that subtly mirror the absurdities of adult life. Saint-Exupéry’s simple yet poetic prose draws you into a world where a fox teaches the value of connection, and a rose reveals the complexities of love. The watercolor illustrations, done by the author himself, add a tender charm that complements the narrative perfectly. While it’s often labeled a children’s book, its layers of meaning—on loneliness, responsibility, and what truly matters—resonate deeply with readers of all ages. It’s a brief read, but one that lingers, inviting reflection long after the last page. A quiet masterpiece worth revisiting. How’s that? Let me know if you’d like a review of something specific!
Yay, first review! The author is clear and concise! The novel is interesting! Everyone should give this novel a chance! A must read!
The story with these details and I'll get into topic is the most handsome sort of cute face mask and cape cod ma it's good just too good and also very good
Overall quality of this novel is great from story content which is entertaining/enjoyable and the quality writing of the author which is easy to read and understand/digest each sequence of the story which I think the Author isn't a newbie in writing a novel which is great. For my personal preferences/Opinion about this novel its just I hope the pace of the story is little bit more fast cuz the poeple here in WN is lack of patience for slow pacing story (or maybe its my own taste xD) and also the tragic with dark tone on early volume is great which make you sympathize the MC expirience but I hope theres isnt got to the point of depressing level of tragedy of this novel(like dying your love ones, lovers etc) in future and thats all TY for this wonderful novel Author keep up the good work.
The chapters were a wild ride! The action scenes were super intense, and I loved the mix of magic and emotion. Can’t wait to see where Casper goes from here!
It's an interesting story. I like how story is progressing and new development are happening. Chapters are short but keep it up!!
