I need to be honest with you—I read these chapters and I actually felt something. Not the usual 'oh this is satisfying revenge content' feeling. I mean I genuinely felt anger, relief, and then this strange mix of triumph and sadness all in the span of twenty pages. The opening scene is brutal. A sixteen-year-old girl, malnourished to the point of being barely human, being force-fed poison by the people she's supposed to call family. The text doesn't even shy away from the physical details—'her entire body was limp,' 'she couldn't even open her eyes.' You can feel her helplessness. And then the original owner's memories surface, and you realize this isn't the first time something like this has happened. This is routine. This is normal for her. And then Lin Xiazhi wakes up. The moment she kicks Chen Feicai and punches Wang Chuntao, I felt this surge of... I don't know. Catharsis? Justice? It's hard to describe because it's not just 'the good guy wins.' It's 'the person who was never allowed to fight back finally fights back.' The text says 'her blazing fury transformed into strength' and I swear I felt that in my chest. But what got me was the aftermath. After she breaks their knees and arms, she doesn't celebrate. She pauses. She thinks about how weak her body is, how she ran out of strength after just a few punches. She thinks about the contracts she needs, the escape she has to plan. The rage is there, but it's tempered by survival instinct. This isn't a fantasy power fantasy; it's a desperate woman doing everything she can to stay alive. And then there's the villagers. When they arrive and Lin Xiazhi plays the victim, I felt this ache. She's performing fear because it's the only weapon she has. She's using their sympathy, their anger on her behalf, to protect herself. It's manipulative, yes, but it's also heartbreaking. This girl has spent her entire life being powerless, and now she's learning to use every tool available to her. The moment that really got me was when Wang Chuntao accuses Lin Xiazhi and the villagers immediately dismiss it. 'Those thin, twig-like arms couldn't possibly overpower two healthy adults.' The villagers know the real Lin Xiazhi—they know she's been broken. And that's what makes the accusation so unbelievable. It's not just that Lin Xiazhi is a good actor; it's that the world has seen her as weak for so long that strength is literally unthinkable. I'm not sure how the author is going to handle the emotional arc going forward, but these chapters set up something real. This isn't just revenge porn. It's about a person who was stripped of everything—her body, her freedom, her dignity—and decided to take it back. And honestly? I'm invested.
The stakes in these chapters are layered in the best way. On the surface, it's a family drama—Qin Jiawei messed with Yun Sheng, now she's paying for it. But underneath that is this much bigger conflict: what happens when the carefully constructed distance between Qin Yanchuan and Yun Sheng starts to collapse? Qin Yanchuan has spent four years building a wall. He came back, he re-established the 'older brother' role, he made sure everyone knew Yun Sheng was his responsibility. But that coin proves the wall has cracks. He was in England. He knew where she was. And he chose not to reach out. Now she knows, and the power dynamic shifts. The external conflict with Qin Jiawei is satisfying but temporary—she's punished, the family backs down, the Qimu Club situation gets resolved. But the INTERNAL conflict between our leads? That's just getting started. Every time Qin Yanchuan says something cold, every time Yun Sheng lowers her head and says 'I understand,' I'm screaming internally because the reader knows more than either of them. The text says: 'Four years were enough to completely bury that year they had crossed the line, allowing everything to return to its rightful place.' But did it? Or did it just get buried under layers of duty and family expectation? That coin is the shovel starting to dig.
Let me just lay out the conflict map because it is WILD. External conflict: Zhao Yinghua and the entire neighborhood are actively hostile toward Cheng Xi. They've already decided she's a spoiled capitalist daughter who's ruining Battalion Commander Qin's life. They're gathering evidence, spreading rumors, making predictions about the marriage failing within a month. This isn't background noise—it's a constant pressure cooker. Internal conflict: Qin An is torn between his pride (he refused to build the toilet initially) and his growing care for Cheng Xi. Every time he does something nice for her, he dresses it down—"I wanted to fix it myself," "It wasn't specifically for you." He's actively fighting his own feelings, and it's adorable and painful. Cheng Xi's internal conflict: she's a woman from the 21st century dropped into a world where she can't even start a fire. She depends on Qin An for everything—shelter, food, protection from gossip—and she HATES that she depends on him. But she also can't deny that he keeps showing up. The stakes keep rising. First it's just social ostracization. Then it's the fire—actual physical danger. Zhao Yinghua doesn't just gossip; she summons soldiers. The situation escalates from "people talking" to "potential structural disaster" in a single chapter. And the suspense? The author never lets you forget that the neighborhood is watching. Every interaction between Qin An and Cheng Xi is under a microscope. When she catches him in his T-shirt, it's not just romantic tension—it's dangerous tension. If the wrong person saw that, it could become another weapon against her. The fire at the end isn't just a comedy beat. It's the stakes turning literal. And I am NOT ready for what happens next.
A masterpiece for the beginning and until now the level has not dropped and it is still a bite. I am really impressed. If I have to say then this hero is really my favorite type as he has all the qualities of the best heroes I mean evil, manipulation, intelligence and finally immorality
"The Unloved Twin, Now Wife of a Billionaire and CEO" is a captivating tale of love, betrayal, and transformation. Cassy's journey from neglect to empowerment keeps readers hooked. A must-read for romance and drama lovers!
ooh this book has a potential, keep updating author! A friend recommended it to me, so I checked it since I'm a fan of bl so yeah here we go
It’s definitely a straight copy and paste from a Chinese novel and the racism is crazy on this one right off the bat. Crazy work from the author claiming this is his without removing it. The character is pretty one dimensional but maybe it has more to it but it just got too bad to continue.
This is an interesting story with well-done character introductions and development, along with solid world-building and pacing. Speaking of pacing, the first few chapters were short with some cut-offs, but it actually worked well—it kept me hooked all the way to the latest chapter. Keep cooking up those great chapters, author-sama!? (゚∀゚ 三 ゚∀゚) ?
good start, have to wait for more chapters
I don't understand how it has romance and r18 tags without a female lead...??
Spoiler alert. Most argue the story has a slow development place. I think it needs to be that way in order for this story to have over 2000 chapters. I read 100 chapters. So far it has felt like it has been a solo journey. Just grind get money, get more evolution points, evolve, find stronger opponent, level up. I want more, maybe more romance maybe in the future his undead army will be able to have family of their owns. Maybe his undead will be able to rule lands of their owns. I want more and I think I wont get it until the academy arc starts. One thing I dislike was around chapter 90-100 when he discovered the black tentancles after killing the gargoyles is the fact he was revelead as a chose one. I felt like its an important title and was shown way to early. Give us hints, indirect wording. We were revealed to that word but as readers we truly dont know how important that is in the context of this story. show me HOW GREAT OF THAT TITLE MEANS. SHOW ME HOW RARE IT IS, HOW POWERFUL, should my heart stop when I see that word, should my blood run in reverse? In the future tell me how his enemies feels. I want my feelings evoked. We will see how the story plays out.Overall 8/10. maybe add like romance, sex scenes, like give this MC some reason to live, give him some real pleasure outside of grinding day in and out. Maybe MC wil have a undead queen from a different planet. Tell me how the other characters feel about him. I completely understand he is in a rush to get rank 2 but please I hope it doesnt continue like this later in the chapters. The envy, jealousey, hate, disdain, lust, respect I want to hear more and more about that. I just wish this story was more EMOTIONAL outside of grinding. Also I feel like his undead arent truly loyal so far. There is something along the line of if this beasts is more then 2 ranks above him they wont listen to him. Like I hate that idea but I understand you want to power cap him. Lastly I also hate the fact that he cant cultivate, I want MC to be the best of everything so even cultivators wont look down upon my MC.Author did a very good job at laying a foundational world background which leaves me excited because he has alot of things to explain and explore in the future. Different ARCS.I will review again after chapter 300.
