Let's talk about how the author structures these chapters because the pacing is absolutely meticulous. Chapter 25 opens with Lu Beizhen standing at the gate in full military uniform, watching Song Tian arrive on her old bicycle. That visual alone—him in uniform, her in work clothes, the twilight setting—sets the entire mood. Then we get the bicycle ticket confrontation, which is sharp and tense, and right when it peaks, Fang Shuqin walks in and diffuses it. Classic misdirection. The author uses her as a pressure valve. Then the bedroom scene happens, Fang Shuqin interrupts again, and we get the bicycle pickup announcement. Chapter 26 starts at FOUR IN THE MORNING. Lu Beizhen takes a cold shower—because obviously—and drives Song Tian to pick up the bike. The early morning fog scene, the candy bag moment, the car ride tension—all of it builds slowly, deliberately. And then Chapter 27 hits us with the Deng Juan confrontation. The shift from the quiet, intimate morning drive to the public accusation at the cooperative is jarring in the best way. The author doesn't give us a moment to breathe between the romantic tension and the new conflict. One minute we're swooning over Lu Beizhen lifting Song Tian over a candy bag, the next we're wondering if she's going to get arrested for theft. That's skilled pacing. The chapter ending on "Let's have the comrades outside judge" is a perfect hook. No resolution, no comfort, just pure cliffhanger energy. I was up way too late reading this.
The stakes in this passage are built so efficiently I barely had time to process them before they doubled. Let's start with what Fu Lingxi immediately understands: she's been given the highest rank, the best palace, and three maids—and she knows it's a trap. That's the external conflict, and it's established in the first chapter. But the internal conflict is even sharper: she's a transmigrator who just wants to survive, and she's already calculating that the Emperor is using her as a target. She's not naive. She knows the game. But here's where the tension really spikes: the Emperor didn't give her a Palace-managing Matron. That's not an oversight, that's a deliberate snub. In a palace where every task requires five or six servants just for a single meal or bath, being understaffed isn't inconvenient—it's dangerous. It means she's being set up to fail, to look incompetent, to become an easy target for the twelve veteran consorts already in the harem. And then—the eighteen new candidates. She's the ONLY Concubine. The next highest are Jin Jieyu and Jing Jieyu, both from powerful families. The Empress Dowager's niece. A Vassal King's granddaughter. These aren't just rivals, they're political threats with family backing. But the most chilling moment for me? When Fu Lingxi realizes the original owner risked her life saving the First Princess, and the Emperor's 'reward' is essentially putting a target on her back. That's not gratitude—that's weaponization. The author makes you understand that in this world, being useful to the Emperor doesn't protect you. It marks you. And yet—she's not afraid. She's calculating. She's already assigning roles to her maids, already planning her information network, already smiling that 'charming smile' that makes Su Ran feel a chill. The stakes are life and death, and she's treating it like a chess game. That's what makes me care: I'm not sure if she's going to win, but I know she's going to fight.
Nice work. As expected from my favorite author. I love the MC, and the man-of-culture scenes are just incredible? Keep it up. I've got high hopes for this one.
I enjoyed it... Cant wait for next chapter
The story is like other boss super rich and poor fsmale lead but find this refreshing and with a feel good reading it. Continue dear author and mass release always??
Excellent ?? very Captivating in truly curious about what happens when you gain all that power ??u200d♀️you could either have control or be mad ?
well this my honest review this story has an interesting concept and a good power system i liked it even but there are lots of mistakes in this story it's too fast paced and it could be said that there little to know character development and the mc goal is very vague I don't know what Iam expecting like why do I continue to read and the second is that this story lacks alot of information iIknkw information dumps are boring but sometimes when done correctly gives the story life and the interactions feels very inhuman iIguess it's not that its bad it just feels like robots taking to each other iam not invested in there charcters also so i cant like or dislike them
Great start can't wait for more, but a quick tip try putting more emotions for parts like not understanding that grandpa died or why his dad hit him ,his parents death, his frustration at the killers lack of understanding and cruelty and the lack of sympathy from the onlookers... Tho I don't know if you were planning on making him a dunce because what I can grasp from these chapters it doesn't seem as tho he has any form of education probably because their poor but a 15 year old won't act like that. But otherwise, great work
This novel is amazing!?? The story is exciting, and the characters feel real. Every chapter keeps me wanting more. I can't wait to see what happens next!??✨️
This started as one of the recommended reads that I have tried and after reading its synopsis, I knew that this was my cup of tea. This takes another twist or approach on the apocalypse thing which makes it more fun and interesting; from the main characters and the supporting ones as well, you’ll get to see their in-depths alongside the dynamics between them and within their eccentricity and intricacies. Also I’m so much interested in the horrors that we will be witnessing unfold in every chapter that will need someone’s wish fulfilled, even more of the macabre that can be seen. I’m glad I added this into my library and will sure do want to finish this til the end. I also will be checking the author’s other two books, which I am sure are worth reading, too.
god novel, i like it very much and hope you also like it
very interesting book I like the concept I'm always happy when there's a hidden and rising gem out here
