There's so much symbolism packed into these first few chapters, and I'm obsessed with how the author uses objects to mirror the characters' inner lives. The wheelchair is the most obvious one. On the surface, it represents Lu Huaichuan's physical vulnerability—his legs don't work, he gets stuck between curb stones, he needs help. But the more you think about it, the more the wheelchair becomes a symbol of control. He's mobile. He's wherever he wants to be. He can navigate spaces that would trap other people. And Shen Simo, who pushes the wheelchair through the exhibition, is literally and figuratively being led where he wants her to go. Then there's the white rose. He folds it with his slender fingers, creates something beautiful, and then coldly crumples it into the trash. What does that mean? Is it a comment on his relationship with women—creating beauty, then discarding it? Is it a preview of what's coming for Shen Simo? Or is it just a small, meaningless gesture that reveals something about his state of mind? I keep coming back to this image. The painting of the reclining woman is another layer. Vulgar pose transformed into elegant art through masterful brushwork. The woman in the painting resembles Shen Simo—same eyes, same intensity. Is Lu Huaichuan already imagining her as his subject? Is he already categorizing her, already deciding how she fits into his world? The fact that Shen Simo notices the resemblance and calls it out shows she's perceptive, but also that she's already being seen, already being studied. And the title itself—"The Prey & The Hunter"—frames everything. But who's hunting whom? The story keeps flipping this, and I love that ambiguity.
So far so good, I’m just starting with the book but so far it’s got a great start. Enjoying the world and character development. I’m anxious to see where this goes!
Hey guys ? Author here again! This will be the Q&A thread. Feel free to ask any questions, share corrections, or offer constructive criticism about my book here.I’d really appreciate your feedback.
Hey, it’s Zena here ^^Okay, I’m totally shameless, but I’m giving my own book 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This novel is packed with laughs, awkward moments, and sweet romance! Honestly, I was a bit wild while writing this one, so please forgive me if it gets a little cringe or random at times ?If you're looking for something light-hearted, this is it! The characters have such a funny dynamic, and the Lycan King? He's charming, but totally clueless in the best way. Don't worry, you'll definitely end up loving him at times! So grab a snack, get comfy, and dive in. It’s time for some fun! ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡
Penelope is a relatable and endearing heroine, whose growth and development throughout the story are both authentic and inspiring. Her struggles to come to terms with her family's legacy and her own destiny are deeply human, and I found myself rooting for her from the outset.
it's quite good, some of the first chapters has spelling mistakes, but the new chapter has everything, you're improving keep up the great work, also, the world building has improved:)
A captivating blend of romance and mystery, this book hooks you instantly! It is thrilling, and ultimately heartwarming. I even loved the twist and everything is just captivating Highly recommended!
Great series so far, like the twists this story has compared to some of the common templates other urban stories might have. I enjoy the multiple layers of plots and mysteries as well that show a long term story as well as immediate sub plot that needs to be resolved. This will be one of the stories I’ll be anxiously awaiting new chapters for. Great job so far!
Just from the name alone this sounds good ?

It was a good read! I love the friendship that Winifred and Winter have. I thought it was Narnia-esque turns out she was transmigrated from a bright light and was being hunted down by the goblin lord! Oh no! Good thing Elise was there! Kudos to the author!!
Shameless author here doing a self review :^)
