This chapter is a masterclass in how to kill camaraderie without a single dramatic confrontation. The plot doesn't need explosions or betrayals with knives — it just needs a conversation overheard through a wall. The six girls arrive as a unit, bound by shared hardship and naive hope. By the end of these chapters, that bond is already cracking, and the reader watches it happen in real time. What's brilliant is how the author structures the reveal: first the walk, which seems like pure adventure, then the eavesdropping, which drops the bomb about the four selected girls, and finally the aftermath, where we see the friendship dissolve into silent competition. The pacing is deliberate — we don't get the information all at once. The maids overhear bits and pieces, and so do we, piece by piece, until the full picture crashes down. The narrative arc here moves from innocence to awareness, and it's devastating because it's so quiet. There's no villain monologuing, no dramatic speech — just two girls complaining about cabbage stew and accidentally destroying someone's worldview. That's the plot move I can't stop thinking about. The author understood that the most dangerous information in a story like this isn't hidden in a secret document; it's floating in the air, spoken carelessly by people who have no idea who's listening.
'You're still lying,' he cut her off. 'I know all your friends. Which one of them could afford a place like this?' I literally gasped out loud when I read this. The sheer wrongness of it — he's accusing her of meeting a man, but HE'S the one who dragged her to a hotel room and locked the door. The gaslighting is off the charts and yet... I understand why she's flustered. The scene where he hoists her over his shoulder and she's screaming and pounding on his back? That's equal parts terrifying and weirdly romantic in a toxic way that I can't look away from. But then the morning after — she wakes up disappointed that he's gone, spots the note, and her mood instantly lifts? Ji Rou, what are you doing?? He's literally your revenge target and you're already softening. The emotional whiplash in this story is real. One chapter she's beating a creep with a stun baton and feeling powerful, the next she's blushing because a man kissed her and left breakfast. The CP chemistry is undeniably there though. Even when they're fighting, the tension is palpable. Shen Xingbai's jealousy is toxic, yes, but it's also... kind of endearing in a deeply problematic way? I don't know, I'm a mess.
I need to talk about the storage space reveal because honestly it's one of the most vividly described scenes in this batch. Sheng He closes her eyes, says the magic words, and suddenly she's standing in the middle of an enormous open field — roughly the size of ten football fields, absolutely nothing inside. Ten. Football. Fields. That's not a pantry, that's a damn estate. And the fact that the narrative just casually drops this measurement makes it feel so grounded, so tangible. You can actually picture it. I found myself imagining walking across that empty expanse, which is exactly what good worldbuilding does — it makes you want to explore the space yourself. Then 007 explains it can be upgraded into a full self-contained world where she can grow crops and raise fish. A pocket dimension. Like those cultivation novels I mentioned before. The visual of transforming an empty field into a thriving ecosystem is incredibly appealing, especially in the context of an apocalypse setting where everything she's stockpiling is meant to survive. The system describes it as "a paradise of its own" and honestly that phrase stuck with me. It's not just storage — it's a seed of civilization. That's worldbuilding that operates on multiple levels at once.
Have been waiting for a QB novel hope the Author continues the good work. Story is good so far hope author keeps up the uploads
i have done my best to create a story where we can feel identified okay the protagonist is me but I don't give myself all the power I appear when it should and I try to give everyone their moment of glory I also make the world feel alive and stay true to the style in which it is set so I think I give myself a good review
For now, the story is quite good. But seeing that the chapters are still a few, I can't say much about this novel. However, I could say that, although it is good, the writing is too draggy. Too much information on a lot of not really useful stuff. I hope the author takes my advice to not really dragged the description too much and also some paragraph are too long as i read on a phone. Thank you.
Why not nove this to fanfiction? Also good fic.
Author, the story build-up had me hooked. I love how you have made the chapters lively Author and even Echo is such a vibe that I could not put down the book. Congratulations and cheers. You deserve a 5 star.
I love you ZhouyuwenHhhhhhhhhI highly recommend you to read this book. I think it’s written very well and I really like it.
After reading 300+ chapters, I can say that this novel is very good. Not exactly excellent or must read but solid. The only criticism I can give is that for a guy that’s been reading for a trillion years, Mc seems to know alot but also nothing at the same time. He’s obviously immensely strong and can basically level up at whim because he’s very well read but at the same time he also knows little to nothing about the world.
This was GOOD!Good MC development, the world is interesting, and I immediately added it to my Library! The world of the MC shattered like glass... He lost his friend and family... and I felt it!Keep up the hard work, Author! It's worth it!!! :D
I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it,I love it, it's sooooooo good, I love how you made the tiny snake dance to the singing stones music
