Okay so let me just... take a breath. The plot in this section is doing SO MUCH and I am here for it. We start with Tao Wanxing sick in bed, Meng Chu taking care of her (which is already suspicious because why is the cold Governor suddenly domestic?), and then BAM — she dreams about the past, wakes up in a hospital, and then the next chapter has Zhu Yan literally on an emergency bed while Tao Wanxing is the one administering treatment. Like. What. A plot twist I did NOT see coming but also somehow felt coming the whole time. The narrative structure here is brilliant because it keeps peeling layers. First we learn they're secretly married. Then we learn HE promised to marry someone else. Then we learn SHE ran away because of it. Then we learn SHE is now treating HIS GIRLFRIEND as a doctor. The stakes keep escalating and I was just sitting there like *what is happening to me* "She didn't look at Meng Chu, but she could feel his gaze burning into the back of her head like a branding iron." This line though — the tension between these two is built through what is NOT said. The plot doesn't need big dramatic confrontations because every scene is loaded with unspoken history. That's masterful storytelling. My only complaint? I want to know what happens next. Does Zhu Yan recognize her? Does Meng Chu figure out that the doctor is his wife? The suspense is killing me and I need the next chapter immediately.
I need to talk about Cen Zhou because this man is an absolute menace and I love him for it. On the surface, he's this elegant, composed, 'Buddha-like' older figure. He wears glasses, he carries prayer beads, he speaks in this smooth baritone that could make anyone weak in the knees. But the narrative keeps reminding us—again and again—that underneath all that restraint, he's a HUNTER. The wolf avatar matching her lamb avatar? That's not an accident. He chose it. He's playing a long game and he knows it. 'He would become the most patient hunter, luring her over bit by bit'—the author literally spells this out and I was sitting there like 'oh no he is absolutely going to do this and she has no idea.' But here's what makes their dynamic so fascinating: it's not one-sided. Qiao Zhiyang isn't just some naive girl being manipulated. She's genuinely trying to maintain boundaries—sending him 'elderly' stickers, almost recording a voice message back and then CANCELING it, convincing herself he's just being nice. She's fighting her own attraction while simultaneously trying to convince herself it's inappropriate. And Cen Zhou? He sees every single one of those moments. He watches her chat page. He notices when the 'recording voice message' status flashes. He SAVES her lamb sticker. This is a man who is meticulously tracking every interaction, and he's enjoying every second of it. Then there's Cen Jinhuan, the best friend, who is basically the comic relief but also the emotional anchor. Her voice call where she's interrogating Qiao Zhiyang about the 'kind-hearted brother' while simultaneously complaining about her uncle cutting her allowance? Perfect. It grounds the story in something warm and real before everything gets darker with the medication reveal. The relationship triangle between these three—Cen Zhou's calculated patience, Qiao Zhiyang's flustered resistance, Cen Jinhuan's chaotic support—creates this really rich dynamic that I can't stop thinking about.
The way this author builds atmosphere in these chapters is honestly underrated. Let me just start with the hospital-to-home transition. Yun Shu going home and the system immediately rolling around on the sofa saying "Master, home is so much more comfortable!"—it's such a small detail but it immediately tells us this system has been stuck in a hospital with her for days and is genuinely relieved to be somewhere normal. That's worldbuilding through behavior, not exposition. Then there's the restaurant scene. She goes out, finds a nice place, orders signature dishes, gets a message from her brother while waiting. The author doesn't overdescribe the restaurant but you can picture it—clean, upscale enough, the kind of place you'd take someone special. And then she's crying at the table and wiping it away because "she didn't want people laughing at her for crying at her age." Ugh, that detail is so painfully real. The fluorescent lighting of a random restaurant, the tissue in her hand, the waiter bringing food right when she's falling apart. Cinematic. The residential park scene is another winner. Morning air, elderly people exercising, Yun Shu greeting everyone and collecting affection points. It paints this picture of a quiet, ordinary neighborhood that feels completely lived-in. And then the contrast with the Yun family mansion back in the capital—crystal chandeliers, servants living in misery, Yun Shanshan throwing tantrums on the sofa. Two completely different worlds existing in the same story, and the author makes both feel vivid. Even the elevator scene with Shi Muchuan has atmosphere—the awkward silence, the 5th floor lighting up, his door right across from hers. You can feel the tension in that small space.
Your world-building is rich and detailed, I feel like I'm right there with the characters.please give me review also
I enjoyed your book, the way you write makes it so easy to get lost in the story. Your style really connects with me, and I’m excited to read more of your work in the future.
It was my first novel that I read. And it was fantastic I want continue read it and wish to author luck
I am the author. I would have rated this 100 starts if I could, Why?Because I love Yanderes, especially the femdom, obsessive and possessive types and not really the school days type (If u know wut I mean). I hope this novel finds it right audience. I am using Ai to proofread my chapters if you don't mind. English is not my first language, and also I do not want my novel to have a subpar quality, I hope you understand.
This shi is good. Death note is one of my favorite anime and I find this story inspired from it. The plot is amazing and the execution is also good. Good work!
I hope this is not another copy I had read like this type of novel x4
It has a promising premise with a nice slow burn and introduction to the story and the world. A little bit of input, hit the accelerator a little more on the plot because it's moving a little too slow, especially with the characters. Will like to see more soon.
This is amazing!! I can’t wait for more!!
It's a story with a lot of boring, meaningless, unnecessary monologues. My friend, decide first whether you are writing a poem or a story. This desire for poetic expression is like salt; if you add a little too much, it makes the food inedible. There's also some past life nonsense that breaks the immersion. The character died and was reborn, the event is over, why are you prolonging it? The reason for reading such stories is the person's desire to escape from reality. But you are spoiling the fun of those who want to forget reality even for a moment, don't do this. These are my recommendations, the subject is good, but unnecessary details and whining harm the story.
