The pacing across these chapters is honestly masterful. You've got Liu Mingyue's POV opening - weak, vomiting, secretly pregnant, hearing about how the Young Marshal treats the Second Miss better. Then BAM, switch to Liu Xiyin's POV at the banquet, internally screaming about wanting chicken noodle soup and wanting to leave this chaos. Then Yan Changye's investigation reveal, then the confrontation. Four mini-arcs in two chapters and none of them drag. The author knows exactly when to escalate and when to let a scene breathe. That moment where Liu Xiyin goes quiet and Yan Changye looks back at her, and she's just internally planning her second marriage? Perfect comic relief that actually deepens their relationship before the next conflict hits. And the chapter ending - Liu Xiyin just walking away after delivering her final verdict to Bai Manman. No dramatic cliffhanger, no 'but then something happened!' Just her stepping out of the door. The story trusts us to understand that this is the real climax. Sometimes the most powerful moment is when someone finally leaves.
I need to talk about this one scene because it absolutely wrecked me. You know how some stories try to make the family's decision to sell a child feel tragic and heartbreaking? This one doesn't. It does something far more honest and far more devastating. Sheng Xia watches her mother take the silver and walk away smiling—exactly the same way she did when the two older sisters were sold. The mother's earlier sorrow was performance. Pure performance. And Sheng Xia, at six or seven years old, sees right through it. Let me just quote the moment: "Her mother, silver in hand, smiling broadly as she turned to walk away—exactly the same way she had acted when her two older sisters were sold." That's it. That's the entire emotional gut-punch of the passage. No weeping, no dramatic confrontation, no last-minute change of heart. Just a child watching the people who were supposed to love her most choose money over her, repeatedly, without hesitation. And what's even more heartbreaking? Sheng Xia already KNEW this. The text says: "Deep down, Sheng Xia had always known her parents' affection was not as deep as they pretended." So she wasn't naive. She wasn't shocked. She was confirmed. The eldest sister who sent money got visits; the second sister who didn't was called useless and abandoned. Sheng Xia was only tolerated because she was obedient. The emotional arc here is devastating in its quietness. There's no big crying scene, no dramatic speech. Just a little girl whose heart turns cold, and then—here's the thing that got me—her feet feel LIGHT again. Like the burden of hoping for love was heavier than the burden of accepting its absence. That's the kind of emotional writing that stays with you.
Everything is just fine! Thank you so much author! I hope you can upload everyday so that I can read new things as well! Again, thank you so much!
Top continue, espero mais capítulos ..........................................................................................................................
I just read the first chapter and I'm hooked already. This is gonna be an amazing journey, I'm sure of it. Kudos to you, author!
This novel is garbage, I means the way it portrays wealth and the wealthy is preposterous. It’s like this novel is written by a kid who has never experienced adult-life before and decided to go with the version shown in movies. While, I am not one to criticise someone especially one who is working, this novel is extremely unrealistic.
I LOVE world-building, but it felt too short—almost like reading a Chinese manhwa! just a joke
New story by one of my favorite authors.
Qing Xia who became sian was trying to survive the disaster world but became sian the idol there be a lot of funny and interesting things happening to him in this new lease of life can’t wait for his story to unfold
I haven't read this yet, but I really felt your synopsis and the fact that it's a web novel system was a great start. So, I gave you 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and added to read for that alone.
I'm absolutely hooked! The plot is captivating, and the characters especially Alpha Darius and Natalie Cross are wonderfully crafted. The blend of romance and dark elements keeps me coming back for more. The pacing is just right drawing me in with every chapter. If you're a fan of fantasy don't miss out this unique gem!!! Keep those updates coming, author....
As I always say, system themed stories have a way of making any small flaw go unnoticed. I wish there was more focus on worldbuilding. Nevertheless, the writer does a great job at anchoring the readers interest. This goes to the collection.
