I have never in my entire life wanted to watch someone get publicly dismantled the way I wanted to watch Jiang Wanwan dismantle Teacher Jia in that office scene. Let me just say this: if you're going to be a snake, at least have the decency to slither in private. "She's just an old woman going through menopause! We young people have to be understanding." Jiang Wanwan says this with a professional smile on her face while internally calculating exactly how much damage Teacher Jia has been doing. And then—oh then—she delivers the most beautifully layered confrontation I've ever read. She doesn't just call out Teacher Niu. She calls out Teacher Jia while making it LOOK like she's protecting Teacher Jia. That's not just clever writing; that's a masterclass in how passive-aggression actually works in real life. "Teacher Jia, you don't have to say anything else. You're always so good to me, so it's my duty to stand up for you." The way Jiang Wanwan weaponizes Teacher Jia's own two-faced performance against her is absolutelychefskiss. Teacher Jia opens her mouth to deny it and Jiang Wanwan cuts her off before she can even try. She's not giving Teacher Jia the satisfaction of a proper argument—she's giving her a public humiliation wrapped in the language of friendship. And the narrator's aside—"Was Teacher Niu, the constantly passive-aggressive one, really the bad guy while Teacher Jia, who spread the gossip, was a good person?"—that's the author winking at us. We all know Teacher Jia is the worse one. The gossip-spreader who hides behind "I'm just relaying information" is always more dangerous than the openly hostile person. The dialogue here is so natural it hurts. Every character sounds exactly like the type of person they are. Shen Tingjun's practical philosophy about roasted chicken versus lunchboxes? Perfect. Jiang Wanwan's deadpan delivery when she tells Teacher Jia "I'm already tired of just hearing you repeat it"? Immaculate.
I have to praise the dialogue in this passage because honestly, it's rare to find a novel where every character has such a distinct voice. Let me just throw some lines at you: Jin Yanzhi: "Instead of crying, you should hurry and find me some medicine." — bratty, entitled, completely oblivious. You can HEAR the whine. Cheng Qiqi turning back after handing over the porridge: "Aunt, if it's not enough, buy your own." — oh my god I laughed out loud. This woman has been through three years of prison and she still has a razor in her mouth. He Shi: "After all, we're all... implicated by the Shizi." — the unfinished sentence, the defensive pride, the attempt to claim shared fate while clearly resenting having to accept charity. Perfect. Liu Suyi: "Mo'er is gone, and Houfu has fallen, but how can you be certain it will not rise again one day?" — this is the matriarch speaking. Even in rags, even in shackles, the language is formal, measured, commanding. You can't imagine anyone else saying this line. Jin Suian: "Mother said, a drop of kindness should be repaid with many, many springs of water!" — the child's voice is crisp and bright, completely different from the hardened adults around her. The narrative voice itself is also worth noting — it's observant but never over-explains. It drops us into scenes and lets the dialogue and action carry the weight. The author doesn't tell us how to feel; the feelings come from the words on the page.
This is a great read—well written with no notable mistakes, in my experience 10/10 find. Snj susisk snsgay iaow wn ebjfich jdjdndnjdnsndndjjxkcndbdhd
I saw this earlier and decided to give it a try...so far so good after reading the first 4 chapters and i like the quality Great job!Happy to see there are no broken engagements no missing parents and no one showing contempt and disdain for no reason...
The writing quality is good and engaging. Also the first chapter was rather interesting. Good read. Do recommend others. Keep up the good work, Author-san.I'd give 8/10.
I love your work, and I believe you can guide me in the right direction or help me see if I'm on the right path. So, I’d like to invite you to read my novel—I’d truly appreciate your thoughts!
The setup's nice with a mix of romance and fantasy world. The writing it detailed but doesn't over do it. Over all, its good. P.S. I like Brave's character and can't wait to know his whole story.
I love this novel. The writing style is so on point up to my standards and can we talk about the mystery? I don't have any idea what's going on or how it started, like Alice in Borderland has been mentioned and I think I'll just settle with the fact that that's what really happened otherwise I might go mad lol
Ascend Through the Void has a fascinating premise that blends reincarnation, evolution, and survival in a way that feels fresh and engaging. The idea of a protagonist reborn as a mantis-like creature navigating a brutal, system-driven world is unique and packed with potential for action, strategy, and emotional depth.
Author here! ? I’d love to hear all your thoughts and recommendations about this novel! If you have any, please feel free to share them in the comments or leave a review. ? Thank you! Peace!✌️
One thing I would point out is that it's so simple yet easy to understand the world building that gradually happens, and how the plot manifests itself through the MC's actions and choices. Although there is very much room for improvement with as good as it is, it was definitely quite the enjoyable read.Keep it up, mate
I only read 2 chapters, it's really good. you know. I'm going to read this novel. and try this you will love it MC.
