Let me just say this chapter is doing a lot of heavy lifting while pretending to be slice-of-life and I am here for it. On the surface, the plot is simple: Shen Youran finishes hoeing his land, invites two new acquaintances over for a meal, goes mountain gathering with his brother, and everyone goes home tired but satisfied. But underneath, the author is building something much more interesting. The Ge Chunsheng reveal is the big one. We learn that he lost his entire family during the war and has been suffering from severe psychological trauma for years. This changes everything about how we read his earlier interactions—he's not just quiet or reserved, he's carrying something enormous. And the fact that Shen Youran immediately recognizes this and wants to help him 'truly come to terms with it' sets up a whole emotional arc that's going to develop. Then there's the financial subplot. Li Jinhua calculating that two taels of silver won't last until summer harvest, while also planning to remake clothes for Ah Tao and thinking about money-making ideas. This creates real stakes—these people are one bad harvest away from disaster. The bean planting strategy Shen Youran suggested is their best play right now. The Li Xiaoman thread is also doing work. Her family only got five acres because of their age demographics, they're struggling with firewood and grain, and Ah Tao already goes out of his way to help them. This establishes a network of mutual aid that's going to be crucial later. And the burning of the wasteland that they're planning for tomorrow? That's a plot device waiting to happen. Shen Youran is being careful about it, bringing water barrels and extra help, but in a novel like this, when someone is that prepared for a potential disaster, you know something's going to go wrong anyway.

"Vidian, you should be dead," Syl said as she walked in front of him, "Why are you here? Didn't you fight the beast?"

"Excuse me, my name is Kim Soo Hyun. I made a reservation," I said.

As Rei was killing them he ate their bodys and even thou he could have provided them with a proper burial he didn't know these people so as compensation for him freeing them from their meaningless existance he took them in to make himself stronger
'What can cause a person to be in such a state?'
He carefully made his way forward while thinking this.
After that, the rest of the group left very quickly.
Aki can't go around casting this spell either, but he certainly can engrave it very fast. Who cares about the chance of making errors when you can use two or four spells to steady yourself and fetch the related information in your own brain.
