This can be interpreted as a critique of those who desired a genuinely compelling dark isekai (a subgenre where the main character is transported to a parallel world) but asked for too much in their expectations. The protagonist comes across as shallow, and the supporting characters, excluding the lolita vampire, lack depth, making the reading experience less enjoyable halfway through.
Average and disappointing. It was honestly going well, but the author rushed to build connections between the main character and the side characters. A good read should subtly draw you in without making it obvious. However, the author overreached, and once I noticed the manipulative intent, I couldn't fully immerse myself in the story.
The side characters are as generic as they come, especially in the Korean style. The plot is also very safe, with the main character getting lucky all the time and sidestepping the more interesting conflicts. Most of the penalties aren't really penalties at all, and even when they are, they often come with some kind of benefit.
, the author plays it safe and generic, resulting in a story that feels like a bland, watered-down version of other popular novels.
I stopped reading somewhere around chapter-70, It became kinda uninteresting, I feel like nothing significant is happening. Does it get worse or better after chapter-70?
his story is nice. We have a lot of good elements, like a nice system, a good combat scene, nice loot. This is a good crafting story.
But we have also a few problems. The MC is alone. We don't really have other characters except for the MC. (talking about adventuree not girls he is sleeping)
Usually on RR when the MC has no friends he is a badass op personality traveling in the wild. But this is not the case in this story. The MC stays in his city and craft. This makes the story tension very low. Author should focus on MC traveling and more world biulding rather than foolish love and his foolish decision.
I highly recommend the author to invest in other characters. This will make the MC personality grow and add complexity to your world.
I got scared for a moment, I really thought something bad happened to Chi Yang
Time to start!
Once a phoenix dies , ashes decay, yet the vermillion rise anew.
Further into the story (ch 200+) there are large chunks of detail missing due to references from the light novel... very frustrating.. especially when characters and quests important to plot development spring out of no where....
The landmines are ao funny ? too many strokes in characters, hard to pronounce names lolol no logic
I really enjoyed this novel, it kept getting me hooked for more. Definitely one of the novels I will re-read
I would give this novel a solid 8.5 out of 10, as it stands out from the numerous isekai series currently flooding the market. Here are some reasons why I found this story enjoyable and why it's not as poorly received as some critics suggest:
1. The protagonist is powerful, but he doesn't滥用他的能力 recklessly. He remains logical, loves exploring, and actively seeks to understand his reason for being in this new world. His goal keeps him focused, despite occasional distractions typical of isekai leads, and he eventually uncovers the truth behind his arrival.
2. The harem element is present, but it serves the plot rather than becoming a mere checklist. Unlike many recent isekai novels, where harem members are portrayed as mindless followers, the characters here contribute to the story's progression, offering both emotional support and meaningful insights. The balance struck between romance and character growth is commendable.
3. The plot is fresh and offers extensive world-building. With gods and diverse races at play, each side quest enriches our understanding of these entities, providing depth to the narrative.
4. Overall, this novel is an excellent choice for fans of the isekai genre who appreciate a light-hearted read, combining humor, adventure, romance, and action in a well-integrated manner.
In summary, while the story may not be groundbreaking, it stands out due to its balanced approach and engaging elements, making it a satisfying read within its category.
This novel is an absolute delight from start to finish. Every aspect shines. The main character (MC) is captivating - cunning, resilient, and even has a touch of charm (excluding bedroom scenes). Unlike many other BL novels where beauty takes center stage, the author skillfully balances the MC's appearance, making it less of a focus. I appreciate that the author does not constantly emphasize his looks.
The male lead (ML) is a complex character – a mix of allure and annoyance, leaving readers torn between wanting to strangle and swoon over him. Their relationship is electric, with their chemistry igniting every scene, making it a true enemies-to-lovers story.
The plot is well-crafted and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Each chapter leaves you eager to discover the MC's next move and what surprises await. However, I do find the connection to the thriller trainee program a bit unclear, as it seems underdeveloped and barely mentioned beyond the initial chapters. Despite this, the novel stands tall as an engaging read.
