This opening sequence is a tight, layered con game that unfolds across three distinct moves, and I love how the author structures it like a chess match where both players think they're ahead. The first move is Zhang Guifen forcing Xu Jingchu to sabotage Qin Yajuan's reputation—classic family exploitation wrapped in maternal manipulation. But here's the twist that made me actually sit up: Xu Jingchu doesn't just refuse this time. She plays along outwardly while secretly swapping the harmful powder for back medicine. That's not just clever; that's a fundamental personality shift from the woman who spent her first life begging for scraps of love. The second move is where it gets delicious. Qin Yajuan, thinking she's still in control, tries to recruit Laizi for the scheme. But Xu Jingchu has already turned Laizi into her own asset. The scene where Laizi testifies against the Qin mother and daughter—his yellow teeth flashing, greedily eating the boiled egg before sealing his betrayal—reads like dark comedy. Eight yuan total for him, and Xu Jingchu walks away with her reputation intact and her enemy publicly humiliated. But the real plot masterstroke is the ending beat. When Xu Jingchu sees Qin Yajuan sashaying in a white floral blouse, she thinks: Could she be reborn too? That single line transforms what could have been a straightforward revenge story into something far more interesting. It opens the door to a cat-and-mouse game where the reader is now wondering: who actually knows what? The author doesn't answer this, and that's exactly right. It's a hook that demands you keep reading.
Okay so let me just say—this chapter is a masterclass in how to set up a face-slapping moment. The Zhou family spends all this time spreading rumors that Little Medical Immortal will appear at their Ji-ji ceremony, trying to steal all the attention from Gu Ruanci's Renqin Yan. They're so smug about it. Zhou Zhili's expression is literally described as 'the very picture of a dog relying on its master's power.' And then—BAM—the Gu family's banquet shows up with Zang Jizhi, Daozhang Qingtuan, and the Eldest Prince himself delivering an imperial decree enfeoffing Gu Ruanci as Princess of Chaoyang County. The contrast between the two events is everything. The Zhou family's event is described as leaving people with 'an indescribable discomfort' while the Gu family's banquet reaches 'one climax after another.' The plot twist here isn't just that Gu Ruanci wins—it's that she was letting the Zhou family dig their own grave the whole time. She even knew about the rumor that Zhou Yuzhi might become Little Medical Immortal's disciple and casually tossed it aside. This is strategic storytelling at its finest.
I think this has potential, we don't know much about the world, but neither does the mc. it's kind of like we are actually growing along with them as they learn and experience more of what's going on. I think as long as this keeps getting updated and the author keeps putting their effort into this story it could be one of the better novels on this app. Keep up the great work??

I'm really impressed with your work buddy , keep it up
The premise is refreshingly unique, and the characters are well-developed with distinct personalities and depth. The writing flows smoothly, with a natural rhythm that makes it easy to stay immersed in the story. It’s a compelling blend of originality, strong characterization, and polished prose.overall its 10/10.
I've read the first chapter and enjoyed it but from the Synopsis I realized that the author is going to write sad scenes...I read novels to escape from the sadness of the real world, so author, don't do this or I'll give you 1 star?
