Okay so I need to talk about Wen Che because this guy is the ultimate protective older brother and I am HERE for it. The moment Wang Hui and the others start giving Wen Lan grief about getting energy pearls when she didn't 'kill any zombies,' Wen Che's face literally turns to thunder. He doesn't even hesitate—he just shuts it down with 'That's enough.' And then he goes on this whole speech about how without Wen Lan pointing out the zombies' weak points, nobody would've survived. That's not just brotherly love, that's him recognizing her actual value in a world where everyone else is measuring worth by combat ability. But the thing that really got me was the tire scene. Wen Che sees Wen Lan about to help and immediately stops her, saying 'I don't want you getting hurt again.' He's been carrying this worry about her physical fragility the entire time. And then she just... picks up a tire that weighs dozens of pounds and tosses it aside like it's nothing. His entire worldview probably shattered in that moment. He'd been preparing to teach her combat skills because he thought she was weak, and turns out she's been holding back this whole time? I love that he felt relieved rather than betrayed—it shows how genuine his care is. Also can we talk about Su Han? The guy barely says two words to anyone and yet he's the one who steps in when Wang Hui crosses the line: 'Don't say things like that again. Since we're a team, we should work together.' And Wen Lan is genuinely surprised he defended her. There's clearly some history there that I'm dying to learn more about.
