Élise made her way to her favorite section, the classic novels, when her eyes fell on a book she had never noticed before. A small black volume, almost too simple to attract attention, but its title, "Shadows on the Past," struck her like an electric shock. She grabbed it almost instinctively, her trembling fingers caressing the cover.

There was something intriguing, something sinister about the title, something that seemed to resonate with the darkness buried deep within her own heart. She opened it without hesitation and lost herself in the first lines, diving into a world of words that, strangely, touched her more deeply than she could have imagined. The narrator of this book seemed to know exactly how she felt, that inner void, that weight of the soul. Every sentence seemed to be written for her. Every word brought her back to her own demons.

The moment she closed the book, almost reflexively, she felt a presence behind her. A slight shiver ran down her spine, a discomfort she couldn't explain. She slowly turned around, her eyes locking onto a figure standing at the entrance of the bookstore. A man, tall, with a piercing gaze, dressed in a dark suit that contrasted with the intimate atmosphere of the place. He seemed unremarkable, but something in his gaze, an intensity she couldn't describe, made her feel... watched.

He stepped toward her, a slight smile playing at the corner of his lips, as though he already knew everything about her. "This book... does it seem familiar to you?"

Surprised that he even knew which book she was holding, Élise blinked and nodded slowly. "I... I don’t know. It just drew me in."

The man made a vague gesture, as if he didn’t think much of the question. "Sometimes, books find us before we even seek them. They reveal truths about ourselves that we were unaware of."

the story concept is good, game talent in martial art world. ealier chapter has a nice progress, the plot is not too fast and also not too slow. but in the 10+ chapters the author lost his brain juice and wasted 10 chapters more with fillers that can be deleted without disturbing the plot and then the story become unworthy to read anymore. so dont wasted ur coins or tickers to read it. i drop this one for now... i hope author rewrite the story with less fillers and less wasted chapters.

Well this will probably turn out to be a good novel. But I will drop it since I do not like the MC since he is kinda evil which was portrayed in a funny way to make people laugh. In any case this novel is funny and you can give it try.
