Catalina De La Cerda had always been drawn to unraveling the mystery of her knight’s untimely death, a tragedy that shattered her world. Alvaro De Ecjia, her greatest love and protector, had fallen in battle, leaving behind unanswered questions and a grief she couldn’t express.

“Please, come back to me alive!” she had pleaded the day he rode into war. But her prayers were swallowed by fate.

Despite countless investigations and denials from those around her, Catalina refused to believe the official reports. She remained stoic, her sorrow masked behind a façade of indifference, though inside, her heart ached.

Her engagement to another—a man she neither loved nor wanted—felt like a prison. Her freedom was locked away, her future dictated, and now, the one person who could have saved her, Alvaro, was gone.

How could she endure such suffocating despair, knowing the one man who truly loved her was lost forever?

In her grief, Catalina found solace in writing letters to her fallen knight, pouring her unspoken pain onto the pages, as if Alvaro could still read them in the afterlife.

Until one fateful day, a letter arrived at her door.

“Señorita! A letter was delivered to you!”

The seal was unfamiliar, yet the name on the parchment was unmistakable.

It was from him. Alvaro De Ecjia—her loyal knight.

How could it be?

This by far is one of my favorite books read so far. I was glued reading it, I even bought points more than I’d like to admit being totally worth it. It’s very captivating, heart wrenching, heart warming immersing you feeling as you know everyone and leaves a happy full feeling finishing reading it.

The story is super repetitive. The same handful of situations repeat chapter after chapter. Terribly inconsistent translations make it frustrating to read. In some chapters, facts change from sentence to sentence in the same paragraph.
