this is sooooooo goood Children (and adults) love reading comics. Talk about memories from our childhood and chances are it involves comics!Readingcomics, selecting favourite characters andenactingthem or sometimes even trading these comics were all a part of our childhood. In fact, I am sure many of you still have these comic books stored somewhere in your house. While comics are popular with children, many parents andeducatorsdo not consider them as “reading”. They are dismissed as trivial or “not a real book”! A lot of the criticism of comics comes from people who think that kids are just looking at the pictures and not putting them together with the words. But comics offer a plethora oflearningbenefits – critical thinking, sequencing, imagination, storytelling, andcreativity. They contain the same story elements (characters, setting, conflict resolution, theme, point of view etc.)asnarrative stories and can be a great read for children.
