English isn't my primary language, so please forgive any errors. The fanfiction started off strong, with an engaging protagonist, intriguing world exploration, and well-developed characters. However, the recent chapters have taken a turn for the worse. The protagonist has become increasingly self-centered, seemingly oblivious to the needs of others, which was a surprising shift for me. His treatment of Shanks, essentially keeping him as a captive for his own gain, is particularly distasteful, and he even portrays it as a favor. While I initially found the acquisition of another Akuma no Mi intriguing, subsequent chapters have failed to captivate me. Despite giving the story another chance with the recent installments, I'm now on the brink of losing interest.
