I really dislike the main character (MC)! It's disheartening because I genuinely appreciate the storyline. The problem lies with the MC themselves; their behavior has started to sour my experience. At Chapter 21 Volume 2, the MC acts like a 12-year-old trapped in a 17-18-year-old's body, constantly boasting and displaying naivety that's grating. They seem oblivious to the risks around them, which is incredibly frustrating.

The MC behaves like a child, despite their mental maturity. They love flaunting their modern knowledge, acting like a show-off, asking others to praise and崇拜 their expertise in subjects like math and agriculture. Their self-importance can be entertaining at times, but their approach is so overbearing that it becomes annoying.

When they lose to the male lead, they pout and sulk childishly, which the other character finds endearing. They even throw a tantrum when they don't get their way, ignoring potential dangers. Despite being warned about spies and dangerous enemies, they act recklessly without any caution.

People seem to fall for the MC because of their behavior and intelligence, but I think it's mostly because they're the protagonist. Their entitled and childish nature is something I can't stand, and their physical attractiveness isn't enough to redeem them for me.

While I do recommend the novel, I'd advise skipping it if you're not a fan of an immature lead. Surprisingly, I find myself enjoying the side characters more, including the antagonists, which is quite unusual given the typical expectations.

Initially, I was astounded by the numerous volumes in progress, but now I understand their necessity, as it's impossible to subdue all the kingdoms in a single day. In my past, I avidly consumed works like Eric Flint and Harry Turtledove, but I'm glad that portal fantasy gained popularity and better quality emerged, steering away from those dated pitfalls.

If you're not seeking a nostalgic trip down memory lane or an exploration of the genre's growth, I'd recommend choosing a contemporary work, preferably from around 2012 or later. Regarding sexual content, it aligns with its tag descriptions. If you prefer your fictional stories without explicit sexual elements mixed in, perhaps this particular book isn't the best fit for you.

However, there are a few cons, such as occasional pacing issues, clichéd romantic moments between the main couple, and a few predictable plot twists.

Overall, if you're looking for a captivating read with well-rounded characters and engaging elements, this is definitely worth checking out!

This novel certainly isn't for everyone, as it delves into themes of Stockholm syndrome, making it challenging to empathize with the protagonist at times due to his self-inflicted struggles and occasional repetitive plotlines. However, overall, it's not a bad read. My primary concern lies in the translation quality. With numerous translators taking on the project, it often leads to inconsistent progress, with one person stopping after a while, only to be picked up by another. I genuinely hope that one day, the novel will receive a complete and culturally respectful translation, avoiding the Westernized interpretations that have caused controversy within the Danmei community.

The plot revolves around a reincarnation tale, but here's the twist: The main character (MC)重生到了一个软弱、顺从且酗酒的王子身上, often viewed as an annoyance by those around him. This happens due to severe emotional and physical abuse at the hands of the regent, who is also the love interest (ML) – someone I wouldn't mind having in a story. The prince was tormented to the point where even minor movements caused excruciating pain, and he covered his injuries with clothing.

What makes it worse is that the prince turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism, numbing the pain until he eventually resorted to suicide. That's when the MC's soul enters the prince's body. Thankfully, the ML begins to notice the change, realizing that the prince he treated poorly is now a different person with newfound determination in his eyes. He starts treating the MC better, almost like a toy – a captive plaything meant to fall in love with him, because he's kind-hearted.

This storyline explores Stockholm syndrome, where forced affection becomes a substitute for genuine love. If you're interested in a tale where love isn't about choice but coercion, "Feng Yu Jiu Tan" might be more your cup of tea, as it showcases a world where love is shaped by power dynamics rather than genuine connection. Beware, though, because the protagonist's situation isn't a happy one, and relationships are disposable once they lose their novelty.

Reading this text was quite distressing for me. Although I enjoy stories involving SM and yandere themes, I decided to give it a chance based on the positive reviews. However, my expectations were severely let down. Initially, the beginning held some intrigue, but it rapidly declined from there. I can't disagree with the criticisms expressed by other negative reviews. The main character (MC) is extremely unlikable, and while the male lead (ML) is decent, he displays a disturbing sexual obsession. Their relationship lacks genuine love or chemistry, and instead, it turns into abuse. Now, I'm generally fine with that kind of dynamic in fictional works, but the MC's personality pushed me to the brink of giving up. I managed to read only a few chapters, but the characters' personalities didn't gel, and the plot felt mediocre, lacking engagement. It's interesting to note that the author has written "Gu Fang Bu" or another title with similar dynamics, where the abusive relationships seem to be a recurring theme. I had hoped for an intense, possessive love story rather than one driven by physical attraction, which is how I perceive the MCs' dynamic. Overall, a significant disappointment.

The main couple's relationship is filled with deep affection and a passionate connection, despite being separated by various events. Their bond is unbreakable, making them an adorable pair. The plot goes beyond their love story, delving into political conflicts within the country, where the main antagonist, a cruel and power-hungry villain, tries to conquer everything, including Feng Ming. However, his nemesis, Rong Tian, proves to be equally cunning and relentless, creating thrilling showdowns between the two main male leads.

There are also subplots exploring the relationships of supporting characters, ranging from heartwarming to heartbreaking, evoking a spectrum of emotions. Feng Ming's adventures are nothing short of amazing, as he cleverly uses his modern knowledge and quick thinking to navigate even the most perilous situations (he must have an impressive IQ due to his remarkable memory).

I wholeheartedly adore this novel and believe it's a great read, even for those who aren't fans of yaoi. It's definitely worth giving a try, especially for those who enjoy the genre. So, if you're open to it, dive into this captivating tale!
