The novel was fantastic overall, but surprisingly, the romantic subplot between the main character (MC) and the male lead (ML) wasn't my favorite part. I found the dynamics between the MC and the other characters to be much more captivating. I must admit that I didn't particularly enjoy the ML's character development once he started falling for the MC. He became overly possessive and controlling, constantly dictating what the MC could or couldn't do, despite not being completely transparent himself. The fact that he conducted a memory search on the MC without their consent was a major turn-off for me. Although his actions stem from his past experiences and he eventually recognizes his errors, I struggle to warm up to him as a result.

When I read the reviews, I had low expectations regarding the main character's behavior, expecting him to be a real jerk. However, surprisingly, he's not nearly as terrible as I anticipated. He's a tsundere - controlling and domineering, but his actions stem from genuine concern. His protectiveness towards the protagonist evolves from a caring place, and with time, he learns to communicate better and treat the MC more maturely. While he indulges the MC to some extent, he also pushes them to take responsibility, especially when it comes to self-care. The age difference might feel off-putting for some, but it doesn't cross the line into creepy territory, and their relationship starts more as a parent-child bond.

The novel initially presents a sweet dynamic, but I eventually decided to stop reading because the story felt dragged out and uninteresting to me. I've come across similar stories before, and despite loving the main male character, I found the protagonist's naivety annoying. The unique premise of the MC being half elf and half dwarf was intriguing, but as the character became increasingly overpowered, my excitement waned, as it seemed like they had already mastered everything by the plot's midpoint.

I do believe that the main character (ML) will experience some character growth, but currently, his portrayal is quite domineering, leaning towards a president/military leader stereotype. When interacting with the 17-year-old protagonist who is learning the language, it comes across as exploitative and manipulative. The ML consistently overrides the MC's decisions, constantly reminding them of their disability and discouraging their aspirations.

One particular incident that stood out was when the ML forcibly made the MC get a haircut against their fear and aversion, even mocking their suggestion of braids, which are typically associated with men. The haircut turned out poorly, and the MC was made to wear a hat, further highlighting the unequal power dynamic.

Additionally, the ML's adoption and manipulation of the MC seem orchestrated without considering their naivety and lack of understanding. In chapter 29, an authority figure confronts the ML about his actions, but by then, I've lost interest due to the stark power imbalance. If the story didn't lean so heavily on this dynamic and the MC were less reliant on others, I might be more accepting. As someone who generally enjoys novels, I was disappointed by my experience with this one, especially since I had high hopes after enjoying "My Husband is Suffering from a Terminal Illness."

The narrative is indeed engaging, initially I stumbled upon it due to the mpreg tag, but I realized there's no actual mpreg content in the story. Honestly, I should've stopped reading earlier, but now that I'm more than 100 chapters in, I might as well finish it. I just wish the tag wasn't misleading, as I feel somewhat deceived.

The protagonist is intriguing, but I find it frustrating how愚蠢 the other characters behave. After realizing the MC can't comprehend their language, they make a single attempt to use images for communication, expecting the MC to suddenly understand them as if mere conversation would teach him. Their subsequent lectures, like scolding the MC for missing classes he wasn't aware of and giving him an instruction manual without considering his basic literacy level – he can't even recognize letters or comprehend words – pushed me to stop reading. It's illogical and unrealistic.
