"It’s official. Death wants an heir."

The announcement sent shockwaves through all realms. Who was worthy to inherit the throne of the Almighty? Debates raged as curiosity sparked fierce discussions.

Mikhael, an ordinary human, had no stake in this—until he received an unexpected visitor.

“Congratulations. You are Death’s son.”

Hel’s words turned his world upside down.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

“It means you get to work for me—for free. The perks? Rent-free living, one rest day a year, and a guaranteed meal every day. Sounds nice, right?” Hel clapped her hands excitedly, as if she were offering the deal of a lifetime.

Mikhael was stunned. This was blatant slavery disguised as destiny. “No thanks. I like my life as it is.”

“Too bad.” Hel gave a dramatic pause. “Either you work for me, or death follows you—forever.”

Trapped between two of the worst choices in history, Mikhael had no idea what power awaited him. One path led to servitude, the other to something far worse. But could he defy Hel’s terms and come out on top, or would he end up as nothing more than her pawn?

This is how you do a system novel. Very enjoyable and the author does a great job setting up the world and the characters before simply throwing the protagonist into the gaming world. Excellent world building, the author paints a picture so vividly of a fictional society in the near future. The protagonist is also a well-rounded character one can feel sympathy for. One who has had a bit of a rough go, losing his parents and floating through life without any real purpose. I look forward to seeing how he handles the gaming world. The story is also very well written and flows nicely, making for an all round enjoyable reading experience. Great effort!
