He is the master of mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds, by the might of his inexhaustible armies. For whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die. He, is the Emperor of Mankind.
The Chaos gods fear the Emperor not for his promise of science and technology, nor for his heroes and armies, and not even for his powers as a god. They fear the golden throne is no longer keeping his decrepit body alive, but rather constraining his ever growing abilities. They fear that one way or another, should the Emperor ever rise from his interment, he will do so not as a god, not as a man, but as a power, reality has never seen.
